    Engineering Manager

    • This role is designed to be responsible for the outputs of a team of more than 40 people that promote the engineering effort for the facility, including the maintenance manager and related structures, engineering stores, maintenance planning, software specialist, artisans, electricians, instrumentation technicians, facility handymen and other.

    Reporting Structure:

    • Reports to: Operations Executive

     Key Areas of Impact:

    SHE

    • GMR 2(1) site appointment
    • Collaborate with site risk department on all risk compliance
    • Implementing improvement opportunities identified through hygiene surveys including asbestos, illumination, ergonomics, lighting, thermal stress, noise, airborne pollutants, air quality, hazardous chemical agents, vibration and ventilation.
    • Site risk management: risk audits, site security, ISO 14000& 45000 accreditation
    • Fire systems compliance with ASIB regulations and the relevant SANS standards
    • Municipal and legal site compliance
    • Electrical instillations in hazardous locations, gas installations, asbestos abatement and pressure equipment compliance.

     People Management

    • Ensure appropriate team structure that is aligned with the site engineering and maintenance strategy      and proper manufacturing support
    • Develop and maintain artisan competencies
    • Manage morale of engineering team
    • Team goal setting and performance appraisal and management

     Maintenance Budget

    • Compile and manage annual maintenance budgets
    • Compile five-year site strategic maintenance budget, including facilities and utilities upgrades for CAPEX
    • Monthly maintenance cost control and reporting
    • Cost reduction and productivity initiatives
    • Critical spares identification, management and control

     Plant and Services Availability

    • Equipment availability management
    • Equipment MTBF and MTTR improvement
    • Equipment shutdown management and PM schedules
    • Co-ordinate OEM support on critical equipment
    • Breakdown, condition monitoring, corrective, preventive maintenance management
    • Understanding of key operational KPI's (OEE, ATP, GA, B&R and customer complaints) and the impact that equipment reliability has on them.

    What It Takes to Succeed:

    Experience that set you up for success:                       

    • 5 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager within the Manufacturing industry
    • Ideally 3 years within an FMCG environment as an Engineering Manager and/or Maintenance Manager
    • 5 years’ people management experience
    • Experience working with Packaging Machinery advantageous
    • Previous experience in food manufacturing highly advantageous

    Packaging Equipment Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for Maintenance- and Project support, training and upskilling of artisans and operators. Continuous  improvement of packaging and biscuit handling processes.

    Reporting Structure:

    • Reports to: Packaging Equipment Lead

    Optimised maintenance support:

    • Equipment uptime and efficiency
    • Audits on equipment in line with OEM standards
    • Ensure availability and reliability of equipment for area of responsibility
    • Assist with high level breakdowns
    • Analyse breakdowns and provide recommendation to reduce downtime for area of responsibility
    • Assist with development and maintaining a problem-solving culture at a high level through facilitating and sustaining root cause analysis practices
    • Advise on maintenance strategies
    • Set standards of stock requirements (critical spares, slow moving, redundant) for all packaging equipment
    • Provide input for the upkeep of site engineering standards specification documents
    • Monitoring and evaluating of artisan tasks according to the CMMS – Asset care system

    Project support:

    • Equipment, installation and start up support
    • Identify areas of maintenance and service projects
    • Assist with the reviewing OEM recommended spares and identification and classification of critical spares
    • Participate in scoping and procurement of new plant equipment to ensure adherence to site engineering standards
    • Facilitation of relationships with original equipment manufacturers contractors and suppliers
    • Management and planning of new installations, upgrades and modifications to the existing plant in a safe and effective manager

    Health and Safety

    • 5 - 8 years of experience in packaging engineering or similar environment
    • Relevant experience such as working with vertical form fill seal machines, case packers, case sealers, shrink wrappers, stretch wrappers, cartoners, flow wrappers, delta robots, articulate palletizing robots flat belt conveyors, roller conveyors, merge conveyors, modular conveyors, vibrating conveyors, spiral conveyors and slat conveyors will be advantageous.

    Lead Diesel Technician

    Key Areas of Impact:

    Repairs and maintenance on diesel propulsion and auxiliary engines

    • Preventive and corrective maintenance on propulsion diesel engines and other mechanical equipment as recommended by OEM Representatives and OEM Maintenance Manuals.

    Sales Operations Manager (Level 1)

    Key Areas of Impact:

    Customer:

    • Prepare and present Wholesale customer sales reviews, performance analysis, and relevant customer data, implementing corrective action plans to address underperformance.
