    Portfolio Manager: Collection

    Job Purpose:

    Manage all aspects of receivable portfolio liquidation for assigned area, as well as the collection efforts and is accountable for the timely and proper liquidation of repossessed collateral with minimum losses.  Affect the collection of deficiencies and supervise the Customer Services Department staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

    • Approves account modifications and executes documents within authority. 
    • Ensures the overall quality of accounting inputs and resulting adjustments.
    • Oversees the successful liquidation of the legal portfolio and coordinates these efforts with legal counsel.
    • Manages customer service efforts as they relate to customer requests, staffing, and corporate support. 
    • Ensures the quality of customer service.
    • Directs the preparation of the past due report. 
    • Approves additions, deletions, and modifications to Potential Credit Loss Report. 
    • Forecasts delinquency and losses and analyzes trends for use by management.         
    • Maintains goodwill while administering the company's policies and procedures through dealings with customers, dealers, and other Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (CFSC) Offices.
    • Manages and trains Customer Services staff as it relates to the job duties. 
    • Initiates new procedures and recommends new policies as work conditions change.
    • Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department.  Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data.  Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

    Job Requirements:

    • A completed qualification in credit management, or similar qualification.
    • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in commercial collections and financial marketing at the retail and wholesale levels. 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of finance/leasing products, policies, and procedures.
    • Knowledge of caterpillar products, their applications, and their markets.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial law, including bankruptcy.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of lease accounting practices.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the subsidiary’s credit and documentation procedures, processes, and operations.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge or and the ability to apply math computation skills used for financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
    • Ability to speak, read and comprehend languages other than one’s native language may be essential.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze the financial status of customers.
    • Ability to provide an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation with fellow employees to accomplish given tasks.
    • Ability to apply managerial and leadership skills to develop and motivate personnel.
    • Ability to define finance/lease markets and make recommendations.
    • Ability and willingness to travel.

    Accounting Manager

    As the Accounting Manager, you will lead and supervise the staff of the accounting department and act as a primary support to the Finance Manager. You will develop, prepare, and distribute reports, which reflect the financial position, results of operations and related financial data. We are looking for a senior professional with solid understanding on technical accounting skills, has exposure in financial statements, budgeting, treasury. The Accounting Manager must have great leadership skills with several years of experience in people management.

    You will provide support in the development of accounting processes and reports, maintain account activities, and assist with financial statements during monthly closing.

    As the Accounting Manager, you will:

    • Direct the work of the accounting department and assist the Finance Manager in carrying out the integration of the subsidiary into the IFS / US GAAP closing process.  
    • Prepare and distribute on a timely basis reports to the Corporate Accounting Department according to IFS / US GAAP.
    • Identify and resolve systems problems and may have leadership role in maintenance of the system.
    • Prepare internal management reports with appropriate analysis and comments, such as the significant figures report and income statement variances reports.
    • Control and reconcile inter-company billings.
    • Report financial information to Cat Inc. treasury, real estate, legal, accounting, etc., as required for their external reporting press releases and surveys.
    • Coordinate activities for audit reviews performed by the internal and external auditors.
    • Assign work to the staff, review their work, give feedback to employees to achieve continuous improvement, apply HR practices and policies, and create a work environment in the department that encourages employee satisfaction and increases productivity.

    In order to be successful as the Accounting Manager, you will need to have:

    • Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply math computation skills including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as statistics and other mathematical concepts used in modeling.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use the software packages associated with Community Financial Service Centre (CFSC) accounting.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, FASB's, FOGAP and Caterpillar Inc. procedures.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of lease, hedge and "foreign currency" accounting.
    • Knowledge of CFSC operations.
    • Accurate and timely financial reporting for CFSC, internally and externally.
    • Maintain procedures and controls to protect the assets of the company.
    • We can only consider candidates with (SA) CA certificate as the position requires solid technical accounting skills besides the leadership skills.
    • Ensure the provision of accurate and timely information regarding various financial activities to CFSC, Caterpillar Inc., and outside government agencies.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

    • A 4-year college or university degree in accounting or a relevant business discipline and a minimum of 8 years progressive exempt experience in, and a thorough knowledge of the financial accounting activities of a multinational company are recommended.

    Demand Planner

    Demand Planner:

    In our business and industries, we cover, planning to have the Right parts @ the Right time is the result we strive to ensure customers satisfactions. The Demand Planning organization within the Resource Industry (RI) segment is responsible of the demand planning processes to ensure our organization delivers on customers’ expectations.

    As Demand Planner, you will join a team of 3 other Demand Planners covering the largest mining market which focus on leading the planning processes, discussions and decisions maximizing customer satisfaction.

    You will be responsible of the development of robust demand planning processes with selected dealers and establishing collaborative relationship with Dealers and internal stakeholder to drive the best possible decisions based on demand signals focusing on delivering accuracy and coverage.

     Finally, the demand planning team is driving an increase usage of data analytics and data science in the demand planning decisions and forecasting actions taken in RI.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with our distribution networks, dealers, and customers on developing and improving the demand planning processes related to critical component rebuilds and repairs.
    • Ensure the demand signals captured through the demand planning processes are accurate and reliable.
    • Consult on the demand signals and inventory feedback with the relevant business partners, to ensure actions maximizing machine up time are taken.
    • Support projects related to the increase usage of data analytics and science in the demand planning space.

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Science or Engineering or equivalent
    • 5+ years’ experience in any of the following areas: forecasting, demand planning, parts sales, parts operations.

    Desired skills:

    • Distribution network/Customers facing experience.
    • Good human relations skills to develop a collaborative work relationship with key stakeholders.

    Logistics Center Manager

    As Logistics Center Manager, you will manage the Johannesburg Distribution Center to ensure a high degree of client satisfaction through an efficient and timely processing and distribution of parts towards dealers and other Caterpillar Distribution Centers.

    Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • In this position you are primarily responsible for meeting dealer needs and expectations while providing leadership focused on a positive work culture.
    • You are responsible for distribution operation processes which include receiving, storage, order filling, packing, shipping, and quality control in such a way that people, quality, velocity and cost standards are being met.
    • You provide direction and guidance for continuous quality improvements, operational changes to reduce costs and/or improving efficiency utilizing Lean methodology and resources.
    • You develop and manage the annual Business Plan for the facility to meet the financial targets.
    • You work with your management team to develop/review operational procedures and quality plans to ensure the operation complies with local government requirements.
    • You are responsible for all plant engineering and maintenance activities of the facility. In addition, you are responsible for the coordination of safety/medical activities, the development of rearrangement programs, the management of parts returns as well as the operational traffic activities.
    • You work closely with the HR team, when appropriate, to recruit, select, develop, train and evaluate your team as per corporate practices as well as managing all employee related activities of the facility.
    • You represent Caterpillar in external employer and governmental associations.
    • As legal entity General Director you bear all respective responsibilities in line with local legislation. You work closely with legal, customs compliance and Product Safety and Compliance teams to ensure robust processes are followed for CAT parts import/export.
    • You work with local Customer Service team to provide required parts ordering support to service dealers.

    Requirements To be successful in this position,

    • You are degree qualified or possess the equivalent experience with a broad background in all aspects of warehouse operations, logistics or supply chain.
    • You will have experience managing teams, with thorough knowledge of local and worldwide logistics operations, commercial business, policies and procedures.
    • You will have previous leadership experience along with exposure to Lean methodology and a good understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.
    • You promote the rationale and organizing principles of organization's structure. You coach your team on organization's philosophy, culture, and history. You participate in developing formal procedures and structures for getting things done within the organization.
    • You demonstrate experience in establishing collaborative processes that lead to problem solving and the achievement of business goals. Establishes shared goals to foster collaboration.
    • In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions with limited direct supervision.
