Effectively identify the cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and social factors that has an influence on the learning process. The Educational Psychologist will be responsible for providing interventions to students to support the teaching process and to maximise learning and adjustment. Assists in the planning, development, and evaluation of programmes to meet identified learning and adjustment needs. Delivers a planned and coordinated programme of psychological services. Counselling of both staff and students.
Responsibilities
Provide counselling services to students and staff in high school
Assist with crisis management for students in need of support
Manage with the school-based support team to ensure students’ progress through the proper support and interventions.
Assist in coordinating and presenting workshops that promote mental health
Maintain case history records and prepare reports and stats monthly.
Might be required to conduct psychoeducational assessments if required.

Ability to use psychological models and practices to enhance the emotional skills of the students.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people, including students, colleagues, and parents.

Minimum requirements
Relevant Masters Degree in Counselling or Educational Psychology, or BPsych degree
At least one year of relevant experience
HPCSA registration as a Psychologist or registered Counsellor
