    Engineer: Advanced

    Purpose of Role:

    The position is responsible for the structural design & verification of ETO, Comminution & bulk material handling systems for Weir Minerals original equipment product solutions. Designs would be focused on structural steelwork/platework in order to complete modular support structures, conveyors, pontoons etc. using applicable static & dynamic design/analysis methods.

    The role also provides expert technical support to the sales/customer support team(s) and problem solving to all production related activities.

    Safety First:

    Design:

    • The use of Strand7 at an advanced level:
      • Nonlinear static and transient dynamic analysis
      • Use of contact
      • Advanced connection design using finite element analysis
      • Advanced pre and post processing knowledge
      • Modelling of mechanisms
    • Analysis and design of:
      • Platework structures
      • Support structures for crushing and screening applications
      • Pontoons
      • Cyclone clusters
      • Hybrid structures which consist of mechanical and structural aspects
    • Preparation of geometry for finite element analysis using CAD packages
    • Management of data on Team Center
    • Implementation of design codes:
      • SANS family
      • AISC360
      • ISO2631
      • BS7608
    • Signal processing and experimental testing of support structures and mechanical equipment
    • Design review, approval and sign-off on all structural designs done by ETO/Comminution teams

    Job knowledge/education and qualifications:

    • BSc/BEng in Civil engineering. Post graduate course work in structural engineering will be advantageous. MSc in structural design/analysis and/or dynamics will be advantageous
    • Active professional registration with ECSA as professional engineer
    • Extensive experience in the use of mechanical CAD software (NX, Solidworks, Inventor etc..)
    • 10 years’ work experience focused on:
      • Structural dynamics
      • Bespoke and nonstandard structural design work for mining structures
      • Support structures for mechanical equipment such as:
        • Screening
        • Crushing
        • Cyclones
        • Pumps
    • Matlab/Octave and/or python programming experience

    Support:

    • Provide technical support for both support structures and mechanical equipment
    • Collaboration with other regions and departments
    • Site visits and calibration of support structures and equipment
    • Champion structural design best practices and uphold standards for Isando Engineering office
    • Mentor other engineers and colleagues in the field of (structural) engineering
    • Valid passport to allow for business travel outside of country

    Expeditor

    Purpose of Role: The successful facilitate the flow of materials to and from various work sites , vendors or departments. Working with vendors to secure that goods are delivered on time in accordance to customer and OE production requirements. Responsible for  both quality and quantity of supply.

    • Work with vendors to ensure committed delivery dates are met and to coordinate the timing and means of delivery

    • Effective use of expedite reports to ensure accurate delivery dates are communicated to the internal and external customer base.

    • Match delivery quantity to order sequence and determine when a customer will receive their goods.

    • Managing and control critical part expediting.

    • Immediate reaction and communication to your manager on any deviation from vendor committed delivery dates.

    • Close work relationship with your manager on all and any deviation received from vendors

    • Ensuring all vendor delivery information as per customer requirement is update in the ERP system.

    • Weekly reporting on vendor OTD performance based on customer required delivery dates.

    • Weekly reporting on vendor delivery accuracy.

    • Monitoring of vendor delivery LT and escalate should it fall outside agreed parameters.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Preferably a Diploma in business, logistics or related Supply Chain discipline; or three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Quality Assurance Co-ordinator

    Purpose of Role: Ensure adherence and compliance to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, and others as needed) and Weir group standards. Manage then document control system. Manage the internal and external audit programme and monitor resolutions and corrective actions for non-conformances raised in audits.

Keep contract packs up to date.
    • To establish, develop, implement, maintain, manage and continuously improve Quality Management Systems within the Organization for SHE and Quality.
    • Lead and take responsibility for planning, conducting, recording and reporting on specified internal ISO audits in compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14000 & ISO 45001 standards and the Weir group standard. This includes follow up, control and ensuring that corrective and preventative actions are executed and non-conformities dealt with accordingly.
    • Lead and facilitate internal audit processes or programs and coordinate the closure of Audit findings and non-conformances with a strict adherence to audit schedule
    • Provide appropriate training and awareness of the ISO standard for all parties that have an impact on the effectiveness of the organization’s Quality Management System and SHE Management system including electronic document management system (Q-pulse), as well managing all document control.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Qualified Quality lead Auditor with a minimum of 7 years experience Auditing in Manufacturing or similar environment.
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Must be willing to travel
    • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
    • Willing to work flexible hours where required
    • Technical knowledge/experience will be advantageous
    • Attention to detail
    • Planning and organizing skills
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety on concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exist.
