    Risk Analyst

    Description

    • FundRock Collective Investments (Manco) is a Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) hosting platform for both hedge funds and unit trusts. The successful Risk candidate will form part of the risk management team within the Manco, where the role forms an integral part in fulfilling risk monitoring and reporting requirements.

    Job specification
    The role will focus on reporting, data analysis and risk support within the Manco environment, including: 

    • Prepare and submit ASISA, SARB, Finswitch and Morningstar reporting, including instrument classification and asset allocation reporting.
    • Produce SARB client-level reports, holdings reports and bi-annual SARB B16 submissions.
    • Manage data uploads and data quality checks across reporting systems, including Moonfire.
    • Monitor and investigate risk and compliance breaches, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed timelines.
    • Prepare risk reporting for regulators, investors, management, the Audit & Risk Committee and the Board.
    • Reconcile data between accounting, reporting and risk systems.
    • Review fund reporting, including NAVs, TER calculations, income distributions and fund fact sheets.
    • Assist with investment due diligence reviews, policy updates and the enhancement of risk controls and procedures.
    • Support risk oversight and reporting in line with FSCA and other regulatory requirements.
    • Work closely with internal teams, investment managers, trustees, custodians and other service providers to resolve queries and improve processes.
    • Support operational, regulatory and project-related initiatives as required.
    • Undertake other ad hoc duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be required to support the changing needs of the Manco and broader business  

    Skills Required:

    • Formal qualification preferably in Finance, Accounting, Investments, or a related field.
    • 2-3 years of current and relevant industry experience.
    • Experience in Fund Accounting and/or the Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) industry would be advantageous.
    • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
    • Ability to work with large datasets and identify issues or opportunities for improvement.
    • Good understanding of financial markets, investments and risk-related reporting.

    Assistant Manager – Executive Performance & Reward Services (EPRS)

    Role Purpose

    • To support the management and delivery of a portfolio of clients within the EPRS division, including employee benefit trusts, employee share plans, nominee arrangements and associated corporate structures. The Assistant Manager will take day-to-day ownership of allocated client matters, supervise and review the work of junior team members and act as a key point of contact between the South African administration team, client-facing teams and external stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop a detailed understanding of allocated client portfolios, governing documentation, share plans and client-specific requirements;
    • Plan, coordinate and monitor client deliverables, transactions and statutory or regulatory obligations to ensure deadlines and service standards are met;
    • Oversee the administration of employee benefit trusts, share plans, nominee arrangements and associated corporate entities;
    • Coordinate and review share plan activity including share acquisitions and disposals, vestings, option exercises, share transfers, distributions, funding and other corporate actions;
    • Ensure transactions are appropriately supported, authorised and documented in accordance with trust deeds, plan rules, corporate authorities and internal procedures;
    • Review minutes, resolutions, correspondence, transaction documentation, board/trustee packs and other work prepared by administrators and senior administrators;
    • Provide day-to-day supervision, technical guidance and coaching to junior team members, including allocation and monitoring of workloads;
    • Act as an escalation point for routine operational and technical matters, identifying issues requiring referral to Managers, Senior Managers or Directors;
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, lawyers, tax advisers, brokers, custodians, registrars, auditors and bankers;
    • Ensure client records, registers, workflows, diaries and client-specific procedures are maintained accurately and kept up to date;
    • Identify and promptly escalate operational, legal, regulatory or client risks;
    • Ensure adherence to applicable Apex policies, procedures, controls and compliance requirements;
    • Support new business, client onboarding, plan implementations, structural changes and client termination activities; and

    Skills & Experience

    • Relevant experience within trust, corporate, fiduciary, employee benefits, share plan or a comparable professional or financial services environment;
    • Experience managing or taking significant responsibility for a portfolio of clients or entities;
    • Experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members;
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines;
    • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
    • Ability to identify issues, exercise appropriate judgement and escalate matters proportionately;
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across jurisdictions and with external stakeholders;
    • Good understanding of corporate governance and working within governing documentation, delegated authorities and established procedures;
    • Experience of employee benefit trusts, employee share plans, nominee arrangements and/or securities administration would be advantageous; and
    • A relevant professional qualification, or progress towards one, in trust administration, governance, law, accounting or a related discipline would be advantageous.

    Head of Risk Framework

    About the Role

    • The Head of Risk Framework is responsible for designing, strengthening, maintaining and overseeing the Group's risk management framework, including the Risk Management Policy and the supporting tools, techniques and documents required for a proportionate, scalable and effective approach to risk management. The role ensures the framework remains aligned to Apex's strategy, risk appetite and regulatory obligations, and supports consistent risk identification, assessment, monitoring, escalation and reporting across the Group.
    • The role provides senior leadership across risk framework development, risk taxonomy, classification, risk appetite, risk assessment, incident management, key risk indicators, policy governance, product risk assessment and the Group Risk and Control Profile. It works closely with executive management, regional and functional Risk teams, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit and first-line risk owners to embed the Three Lines of Defence model and strengthen risk capability and culture.

    Accountabilities & Key Responsibilities

    • Design, strengthen, maintain and oversee the Group Risk Management Framework, including the Risk Management Policy and supporting standards, tools, techniques and guidance.
    • Maintain the Group risk taxonomy, impact and likelihood classification matrix, risk appetite methodology, risk assessment approach, interconnected risk mapping and key risk indicator standards.
    • Facilitate the Group-level business risk assessment and oversee day-to-day maintenance of the Group Risk and Control Profile, including monitoring and escalation of material trigger events or issues.

    Accounts Payable - Assistant Manager

    Description

    • We are seeking an accounts payable assistant manager to oversee and manage the end to end accounts payable function for a top tier client. The role spans significantly wider than a typical accounts payable function. The successful candidate will not only manage the entire accounts payable process but will own the management of complex systems used by the team on a day to day basis and will be responsible for KPI reporting both internally and externally to the client.
