Job Purpose

• Responsible for all planning, coordinating and controlling of repair, service and maintenance jobs for a team of Service Artisans to comply with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) e.g Caterpillar, Perkins etc. standards and customer requirements.

Key Outputs

• Planning, Scheduling, and monitoring job progress and work in progress (WIP) by using an appropriate planning system.
• Planning cost elements on service jobs (Labour, Parts and Bought outs).
• Achievement of maximum productivity and profitability.
• Apply warranty policies and procedures, including service warranty.
• Issuing or job instructions to and dispatching of artisans (briefing).
• Initiation and control of Bought Out requests.
• Follow up on parts, quotes and service reports.
• Assist with achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Assist with effective control of cost centre expenses and Work-in-Progress.
• Apply warranty policies and procedures, including warranty decisions and Service warranty investigations.
• Resolve internal and external customer queries.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Grade 12
• Trade certificate (Diesel or Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic)
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy (MS Office, SIS, STW / ET, CAT inspect. myCat.com)
• SAP knowledge advantageous.
• Good communication skills and customer relations.
• Must be a team player and be willing to work overtime.
• Problem solving skills and technical competence, rule orientation and mechanical reasoning.

• Keyword Strategy: A list of target search terms that we want Barloworld to lead in.
• Paid Media Campaigns: Active, high-performing adverts across search engines and social media that bring in new sales leads.
• Monthly Traffic Reports: Simple summaries showing how many people visited the site and if our rankings have improved.
• SEO Audit Logs: A record of technical fixes made to the website to improve its health and "crawlability."
• Conversion Reports: Data showing how many visitors took action, such as requesting a quote or calling a branch.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Essential:

• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Valid certifications in Google Ads and Google Analytics.
• Two to four years’ experience in a dedicated SEO or Paid Media role.
• Proven track record of managing monthly budgets and improving search rankings.

Advantageous:

• Specialized certification in Social Media Marketing or Digital Content Strategy.

Work Experience

Essential:

• Three to four years’ experience managing business website search engine optimisation (preferably for a B2B or industrial brand).
• Experience using Paid media advertising (e.g., GoogleAds, Meta, LinkedIn)
• Strong writing skills with the ability to explain technical info in a simple, engaging way.
• Using analytical tools to create reports of varying levels for various stakeholders.

Knowledge

Essential:

• Familiarity with creative processes, and digital content workflows.
• Familiarity with SEO tools (like Semrush or Ahrefs) and how to manage content in a CMS like WordPress or SharePoint.

Advantageous:

• Experience within the industrial space.

Key Output

• Supervise a team of artisans and assistants in the maintenance and repair of earthmoving equipment and/or components.
• Create a safe environment for all productive and non-productive employees by doing the following:
• Ensure daily risk assessments are completed per artisan to control safety risks
• Perform toolbox inspections
• Effectively communicate with team, management, and customers.
• Ensure service work is carried out in compliance with quality standards (OEM Guidelines).
• Apply warranty policies and procedures, including warranty decisions and service warranty investigation.

• Trade Test qualified in relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Mechanic/Earthmoving).
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience as Caterpillar General Mechanic post-apprenticeship or learnership.
• Minimum of 4 years Caterpillar Component rebuild experience with substantial troubleshooting exposure (post-qualification).
• Experience acting as a Supervisor, Team Leader, or performing duties as a Service Planner.
• Computer literate (MS Office, SIS, ET, SAP, CRM) and good business writing skills.
• Applicable product knowledge.
• Well familiar with failure analysis and re-usability guidelines on components.
• Experienced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on Earthmoving Equipment Components.
• Well-embedded component-specific technical knowledge and skills.
• Familiar with Dyno and Hydraulic test bench operation and troubleshooting.
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
