    Workshop Assistant

    • Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the engineering sector is looking for a Workshop Assistant to join their team for permanent positions in Middelburg, MP.  This is a urgent vacancy.

    • The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced workshop environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist Fitters, Turners, and other artisans with daily workshop activities.
    • Support the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and components.
    • Operate basic workshop machinery and hand tools under supervision.
    • Assist with measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting tasks.
    • Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly.

    • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings will be advantageous.
    • Competent in the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery.
    • Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.

    Dozer Operators x6

    Summary of the Role

    • Responsible for complying with the Mine Health and Safety Act, conducting slot dozing activities in the open-cast pit, and ensuring maximum ore is pushed and made available for loading to the process plant in a safe and efficient manner.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate the dozer safely and according to company standards.
    • Complete all required pre-shift inspections.
    • Check fan, timing, and alternator belts for wear and correct tension.
    • Check and maintain radiator water levels.
    • Inspect all G.E.T. (Ground Engaging Tools) and report any missing components immediately.
    • Check the radiator and oil cooler for leaks and cleanliness.
    • Inspect the engine and hydraulic systems for oil leaks.
    • Clean windows, mirrors, lights, and ensure clear visibility.
    • Check that all lights, hooter, and safety equipment are operational.
    • Inspect battery terminal connections.
    • Level and maintain stockpile dumps.
    • Maintain safety berms on dumps according to mine procedures.
    • Keep the machine clean and in a hygienic condition.
    • Perform any other reasonable duties required by operational needs.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 10.
    • Valid Dozer Competency Certificate (CAT D6R, D9R, D10R).
    • Minimum 3 years' experience working in an opencast mining environment.
    • Successfully pass a Dover Test (mine requirement).
    • Basic communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Good problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work varied schedules under diverse conditions and sometimes stringent time constraints.

This role requires an individual with deep technical expertise on Pit Viper, Dm drill rigs, a strong understanding of market trends, and the ability to inspire and  lead a team towards achieving strategic goals. The Roaming Product Specialist will serve as the primary resource for product knowledge, training, and strategy, ensuring the success of  the drill rigs category within the organization.

    Key Responsibilities: 
    Product Expertise: 

    • Develop a thorough understanding of the Surface Drill Rigs product line, including specifications, applications, and competitive positioning.

    • Strong technical knowledge of Pit Viper 271,275&351 DM30, DM45 &DML.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in autonomous systems, data analysis and reporting tools.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities. 

    Preferred Skills: 

    • Experience product lifecycle management (PLM/LCC) systems.
    • Knowledge of supply chain dynamics.

    Site Technician

    • Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client is seeking a highly skilled Technical Site Technician to provide specialized  support on drill rigs and automation systems at customer sites. The ideal candidate will hold a Millwright qualification (or equivalent proven experience) and demonstrate strong technical expertise, troubleshooting ability, and a commitment  to safety and operational excellence. This role is critical in ensuring reliable equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in  productivity.

    Key Responsibilities 
    Equipment Support & Maintenance 

    • Perform scheduled services, breakdown repairs, and fault finding EDS equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and rectify issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems.
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to address recurring failures and implement sustainable solutions.
    • Support automation implementation and ensure alignment with site requirements. 

    Customer & Team Engagement 

    • Build strong, lasting relationships with customers through professional service delivery.
    • Coach mine employees and staff on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
    • Promote aftermarket services and products to support business growth.
    • Liaise with Product Company engineers to support product development and testing. 

    Operational Excellence 

    • Participate in productivity and efficiency improvement projects.
    • Ensure safe storage, handling, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
    • Support spare parts inquiries, on-site stocking, and inventory management.
    • Work collaboratively within the team to meet customer requirements and deadlines. 

    Reporting & Communication 

    • Submit comprehensive daily site reports and weekly machine performance reports.

    Qualifications 

    • Millwright trade qualification preferred (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics).

    Experience Requirements 

    • Strong technical knowledge of Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills.
    • Advanced RCS troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience with Trimble High Precision GPS systems.
    • Proven expertise in automation implementation (advantageous).
    • Proficient in troubleshooting across all drill systems.
    • Computer literate with MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    Health & Safety Officer

    Requirements: 

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
    • Valid SAMTRAC or NOSA certification (advantageous).

    Experience:

    • Compile All Sites Incident Registers monthly.

    • Submit IOD’s and follow up on medical rwports
    • Ensure all sites have a valid up to date compliant health and safety file.
    • Conduct quarterly audits on sites.
    • Ensure H&S committee is operational.
    • Conduct annual baseline risk assessments per site.
    • Ensure compliance and training.
    • KPI measurements and Performance review.

    Other Requirements:

    • Valid Driver’s License (Code B/08 minimum).
    • Medically fit.
    • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours if required.
