ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Purpose of the job to lead and manage a production site to ensure the safe supply of product through the optimisation of resources.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

Operational and Technical results:

• Production planning and ordering of raw materials

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Must)
• Basic computer skills (Must)
• Code 08 driver’s license (Must)
• Code 10 driver’s license (Advantage)
• Underground Blasting certificate (Advantage)
• Qualified Trade (Advantage)

Experience:

• 5 years Supervisory experience
• 5 years underground mining/explosives industry experience
• 5 Years computer skills
• Experience in managing of people

Description

• Comply with all Customer rules and procedures when operating at Customer sites
• Assist the Explosives Controller to conduct routine fault finding, trouble shooting, maintenance and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassis
• Assist the Site Administrator with stock control
• Load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials
• Unload raw materials (emulsion Matrix and Expan tankers)
• Cleaning and decontamination of MMU.
• Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to the Explosives Controller and/or Site Supervisor
• Maintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU by conducting good housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant.
• Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streams
• Ensure correct PPE is used ; is in good condition and is correctly worn at all times.
• Housekeeping of work area
• Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately ( Hirac & Risk Assessment)
• Knowledge of relevant hand tools
• Knowledge of emergency procedures
• Comply to the Mine`s safety and health procedures
• Attend to mines induction training
• Maintain basic safety, health and environment issues
• Assess the product application practices
• Identify incorrect product application practices
• Demonstrate and coach the correct practices

Requirements

• Must have Grade 12 ( Must)
• 1-2 years’ experience in the mining or similar environment ( Must)

Advantageous:

• Possession of a valid code C Driver’s license (Advantageous)
• Blasting Assistant Certificate (Advantageous)
• Competency A Certificate (Advantageous)
