- To function as the primary HR partner to Head Office employees by owning and integrating Employee Relations (ER/IR), Wellness, Learning and Development, and Talent Management. To provide strategic HR advisory input to Head Office leadership, influencing decision-making and translating business strategy into people initiatives. Accountable for the design, implementation and continuous improvement of ER, Wellness, L&D and Talent frameworks for Head Office
- This includes supporting the development and executing compliant and aligned Human Resources Development (HRD) interventions to build capability and support organisational goals, ensuring the quality and accreditation of all development programmes, and overseeing all HRD-related administrative and statutory requirements.
- The role serves as the pivotal point of contact for Head Office ER/IR matters, coordinating and delivering effective Wellness and ER/IR interventions, while suggesting and providing responsive, solutions-oriented support to stakeholders.
- Leverage people analytics and ER trends to proactively identify risks and inform interventions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in HR Management
- Postgraduate qualification in HR Management/ Industrial Psychology
- Industrial Relations Qualification
- 7 to 10 total working years’ experience
- 4 to 5 total working years’ experience in a similar HR partnering experience
- Exposure to leadership-level stakeholders
- Ownership of HO employee experience
- ER risk metrics

- IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

- SAMTRAC
- COMSOC 1 & COMSOC 2

Job Description

- Strong experience in electrical systems, distribution and installation standards.
- Valid trade qualification (Electrician) advantageous.
- Registration with relevant professional body advantageous.
- Proven experience supervising contractors on site.

- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in electrical installations within mining, construction or industrial environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
Electrical Works Supervision
- Oversee installation of electrical systems including cabling, switchgear, distribution boards, control panels and associated equipment.
- Ensure all work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Monitor installation practices to ensure correct techniques and standards are applied.
- Ensure proper routing, termination and protection of electrical systems.
Technical Control and Compliance
- Verify that all electrical installations meet engineering specifications and statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, regulations and mine standards.
- Monitor adherence to installation standards including earthing, bonding and protection systems.
- Identify technical deviations and implement corrective actions.
Safety Management and Risk Mitigation
- Enforce strict electrical safety procedures across all activities.
- Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with electrical installations.
- Work closely with the Safety Officer to ensure alignment with mine safety requirements.
Testing and Commissioning Support
- Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure all systems are tested, verified and certified before energisation.
- Validate test results and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Support handover of electrical systems to operations.
Contractor Management and Capability Development
- Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to local contractors.
- Assist contractors in understanding drawings, specifications and installation requirements.
- Identify skill gaps and provide practical support to improve execution quality.
- Ensure contractors understand safety requirements and compliance standards.
Coordination with Construction and Engineering Teams
- Work closely with Civil, Building and Electrical Supervisors to ensure alignment.
- Ensure survey activities are integrated with construction sequencing.
- Support engineering teams in verifying design implementation on site.
Schedule and Progress Management
- Ensure electrical works are executed in line with project schedule.
- Monitor progress and identify potential delays.
- Escalate constraints and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Material and Equipment Control
- Ensure correct materials and equipment are used in electrical installations.
- Work closely with Materials Controller to ensure availability and accountability.
- Prevent misuse or incorrect installation of electrical components.
Risk Management and Governance
- Identify risks related to electrical safety, compliance and installation quality.
- Implement mitigation strategies to prevent incidents and delays.
- Ensure full documentation and audit trails for all electrical installations and testing.
- Escalate any risks or non-compliance immediately.
