    Senior Systems Development Engineer

    The Role

    As a Senior Systems Development Engineer you will help scale and automate our financial services platform as the organization grows across regions worldwide. The work you’ll do will require you to be intellectually curious, and a clear but passionate thinker, capable of driving and facilitating innovation. You’ll work closely with our software engineering, data engineering, IT, and Information Security teams to build our infrastructure and support the production environment.

    You will report to your Systems Development Tech Lead.

    If you join us, you’ll

    • Architect, develop, automate, and refine processes to allow JUMO to run highly available system in AWS
    • Identify and implement tooling to support JUMO’s engineering and data teams, as well as the production environment
    • Develop, manage, and troubleshoot JUMO’s production environments hosted in AWS
    • Develop monitoring and reporting for JUMO’s infrastructure
    • Build and maintain secure network infrastructure to JUMO’s partners
    • Lead, influence, and guide architectural and design discussions with the team and principal engineers
    • Act as a technical thought leader and mentor for others in the team
    • Collaborate with engineering to optimise the database infrastructure
    • Help raise and improve the quality of standards on architecture, code, and documentation
    • Document operational procedures and best practice system behaviours

    It will be great if you have

    • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements
    • Experience mentoring team members
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • 8+ years’ experience in scripting
    • 8+ years’ unix systems administration experience
    • 5+ years’ experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL (preferable)
    • 5+ years’ experience with major cloud environments such as Amazon or Azure (Amazon preferred)
    • 3+ years’ experience with IP networking and network equipment
    • A solid understanding of technologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with container orchestration systems (Kubernetes/EKS preferred)
    • Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD systems (Terraform, Jenkins, and Spinnaker preferred)
    • Experience with observability systems and best practices (Datadog preferred)
    • Experience with high volume, highly available systems
    • Experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) and Lean methodologies
    • A University degree would be an advantage

    Partner Implementations Manager

    The Role

    As Partner Implementations Manager, you will be accountable for working with various teams to deliver technical products and services to JUMO’s partners and customers. This position is responsible for working closely together with JUMO’s product and engineering teams as well as data and prediction teams to translate the commercial requirements into the technical delivery roadmaps. Effectively synchronizing platform delivery with fast-paced sales cycles and partner engagements. This position is responsible for project planning and managing against the project plan, mitigating risks, and helping coordinate (from the partner side) the development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support.

    The Partner Implementations Manager will be based in Cape Town, South Africa and will report to the Strategic Delivery Lead, the Growth & New Markets business unit.

    In this role, you’ll:

    • Help lead JUMO’s partner- and market-led strategy and work with inter-functional teams to drive new products and features through the development process
    • Work directly with ecosystem & capital partners to gather and create product requirements and specifications
    • Provide project implementations leadership and expertise to Growth & New Markets, JUMO’s commercial distribution engine, to create understanding around development timelines for management alongside sales cycles
    • Accelerate customer & partner success by identifying areas in need of improvement to increase customer / partner satisfaction and decrease maintenance / support requests
    • Work closely with business and operations leadership, including executive leadership at JUMO, to define the implementation scope of initiatives and provide updates on the project(s).
    • Be hands-on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning
    • Metricize strategic delivery of projects to ensure that every project meets deadlines and is completed within budget

    What you’ll need:

    • Field of Study in management, business administration, computer science, or a similar field
    • Deep understanding of project / program management with 3 – 5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment taking a product through its complete lifecycle using Agile methodologies and delivering highly scalable and robust systems.
    • Proven track record of leading large cross-functional software projects
    • In addition, prior exposure to strategy/management consulting or a business / commercial discipline would be an advantage
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously
    • Fluency in or comfort with project management tools & interfaces, particularly Asana, JIRA
    • Excellent report-writing and presentation, both verbally and visually (including data visualization)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required)
    • Prior experience in financial services, e-commerce, or the mobile industry would be an advantage, though not required
