    Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Master's degree in Gender Studies, Women's Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in gender equity programming, including experience in strategic planning, gender analysis, capacity building, and policy advocacy.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Demonstrated expertise in gender analysis methodologies and tools.
    • Strong facilitation and training skills with experience in designing and delivering gender mainstreaming workshops.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages preferred).
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

    Program Assistant - (1144)

    Programme implementation 

    • Support the implementation of the TB ACCELERATE programme, including management of community-based programming and ensuring adequate coverage in assigned province to achieve agreed donor targets.
    • Support work plan development, monitoring and achievement of project milestones, and project reporting in line with donor and organisational requirements.
    • Facilitate implementation and cascading of project innovations, including hybrid/virtual service delivery approaches and evidence-based interventions using applicable technology. 
    • Facilitate implementation of quality assurance/quality improvement (including joint supervisory systems) with district-based Community Coordinators in collaboration with relevant Head Office (HO) departments.
    • Co-design and execute effective plans/strategies to support donor-led audits, progress reviews, and draft quarterly reporting, in collaboration with relevant project staff and other stakeholders. 
    • Draft and complete regular reporting, including donor reports, on a regular basis.
    • Support programmatic aspects of project evaluations and knowledge management in collaboration with project and external stakeholders, including relevant HO departments. 
    • Support the design and implementation of strategies, processes, tools, and virtual/hybrid systems for capacity building of frontline cadres.
    • Perform other managerial duties as assigned.

    Supervision 

    • Ensure robust line management of direct reports and the application of the organisation’s performance-based procedures and systems.
    • Provide ongoing on-site coaching and mentorship of project teams and ensure high levels of motivation and productivity for large team of frontline workers (approximately 102).
    • Ensure adequate project implementation controls, processes and procedures to promote compliance and stewardship of human/financial resources.

    Stakeholder engagement 

    • Perform donor and stakeholder relationship management and development, including representation of m2m in key strategic forums as delegated.
    • Provide input into and support preparations for high-level site visits as required.
    • Maintain and grow stakeholder relationships, including representation of the organisation in technical working groups as requested.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelors required in Public Health, Social Sciences or related field
    • 3 years relevant experience in project management, preferably in TB, RMNCH, HIV or other relevant public health/social science programmes
    • Demonstrated experience in USAID/PEPFAR project implementation, and experience working with other donors
    • Good working knowledge and understanding of the area of community-based approaches of TB programming  
    • Knowledge of South Africa’s health and social service systems

    Project Officer - Technical Assistance - (1143)

    Technical Assistance: Training and Capacity Building 

    • Conduct training needs assessments and develop training plans based on project goals and quality improvement (QI) results.
    • Lead on-site capacity building for staff, contributing to pre-and in-service trainings.
    • Facilitate training logistics and ensure proper documentation and reporting of training activities. 
    • Monitor and evaluate the impact of training programs, in coordination with the M&E team.

    Project  Implementation 

    • Manage all aspects of the implementation of technical assistance delivery at health facility and community levels, ensuring quality service delivery to AGYW program clients
    • Conduct quarterly supervision visits to build Peer Mentor Mother capacity and ensure service integration and quality. 
    • Support the utilisation of M&E tools at facilities and facilitate the integration of AGYW services into the health facilities and community activities, and support linkages between both platforms. 
    • Foster strong relationships with health facility staff and implementing partners to maximise retention in care and adherence to treatment. 
    • Contribute to workplans, budget development and project reporting at the district and provincial levels.
    • Mentor government and NGO based Peer Mentors including provision of supportive supervision at site level. 

    Performance Monitoring and Improvement 

    • Conduct regular site-level supervision, monitor performance, and facilitate monthly quality improvement meetings.
    • Analyse monthly facility level data to identify areas for service and quality improvements.
    • Collaborate with the M&E team to assess site performance and implement joint improvement interventions.
    • Ensure project compliance with established controls, procedures, and resource stewardship.

    Stakeholder Engagement 

    • Represent the organisation at meetings with provincial and district health departments, implementing partners, and donors.
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments and NGOs, to support program implementation.
    • Coordinate and participate in stakeholder visits, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with donors and partners.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public health, social sciences or related field
    • Minimum of five years’ field experience in public health work with a focus on RMNC&AH, VTP, or HIV/AIDS programming, with at least two years’ in a supervisory role
    • Strong technical knowledge of VTP, RMNC&AH, and paediatric HIV programming
    • Experience in the implementation of AGYW HIV prevention programs
    • Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance to NGOs and government health departments
    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including experience working with UNICEF, PEPFAR, USAID, local department of health
    • Experience in drafting project workplans, reports, and budgets
    • Familiarity with quality assurance, quality improvement and M&E tools.
    • Experience in training and capacity building for health facility staff, lay health workers, and Peer Educators.
    • Experience in with use of Department of Health (DoH) tools an advantage

    Senior Technical Advisor - (1142)

    Key Performance Areas:

    Project Leadership and Management:

    • Lead the implementation of the UNICEF’s Young Mothers Project, including project and M&E framework development and consultations with DOH
    • Oversee rollout of project activities, including, training, supervision, ongoing project monitoring and evaluation, and the on-time submission of high-quality reports.
    • Document lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring knowledge transfer and adaptive learning. 
    • Design and lead the approach for providing Strategic Information (SI) technical assistance to project stakeholders.
    • Manage and ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables, maintaining high standards of quality.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with DOH representatives and UNICEF donors, ensuring smooth project implementation and collaboration, including preparation for slides and materials for donor and stakeholder meetings.
    • Represent the organisation at donor meetings, providing updates on progress, and addressing any concerns.
    • Responsibility and accountability for the project workplan and budget, ensuring all activities are completed within the allocated time and financial parameters.
    • Lead quality assurance and quality improvement activities to continuously enhance project outcomes.
    • Offer technical guidance and advice to the Pretoria direct service delivery team as needed, ensuring technical excellence.
    • Contribute to internal working groups by sharing lessons learned and promoting knowledge exchange across projects and countries.

    Stakeholder Representation:

    • Provide input into and support for high-level site visits and key events at the Pretoria hub.
    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including DOH, UNCIEF, and other project partners.
    • Represent the organisation in strategic engagements, technical working groups, and other relevant external engagements.
    • Advise on technical design and implementation of programmes to ensure alignment with best practices and stakeholder expectations.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Social Sciences or related field. Master’s preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the health sector, including HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (RMNC&AH), vertical transmission prevention (VTP) Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) programming
    • Demonstrated experience working with government at all levels (national, provincial, district)
    • Experience working with UNICEF and other government and foundation donors
    • Excellent ability in providing technical assistance, and proven in-depth knowledge of health programming, with specific experience in reproductive, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, and adolescent programmes and interventions in South Africa. Extensive knowledge of health system in South Africa.
    • Demonstrated experience in the provision of strategic information technical assistance.
    • Demonstrated experience in the deployment and monitoring of quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Demonstrated experience leading a technical assistance activity, through evidence and data driven decision-making and using M&E data for programme improvement, and serving in technical advisory roles.
    • Strong design and conceptualisation skills, Able to think creatively and; systematically at all project levels.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and managing project work plans, budgets and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within scope.
    • Strong stakeholder management and representation skills, with the ability to foster productive relationships with donors, government officials, and partners.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, wit the ability to represent the organisation at high-level meetings and forums.
