    Diesel Supervisor (Mining)

    Purpose of the role:

    • We are seeking an experienced Diesel Supervisor that will be responsible for the receiving and dispensing of large volumes of diesel.

    Responsibilities:
    Diesel Handling and Storage:

    • Oversee the entire diesel storage, handling, and stock management
    • Receive diesel supply trucks and ensure proper offloading into tanks
    • Take meter readings before and after offloading to calculate diesel received
    • Inspect seals on diesel tanks to ensure integrity
    • Collect samples to verify diesel quality and adhere to safety procedures

    Health and Safety:

    • Ensure safety protocols are followed
    • Conduct daily toolbox talks
    • Report safety incidents promptly
    • Maintain safety files and records

    Receiving Diesel:

    • Place orders based on stock levels and delivery times
    • Verify incoming trucks against contracts or purchase orders
    • Coordinate with security for truck entry
    • Follow checklists and procedures for diesel offloading

    Data Management:

    • Reconcile daily diesel stock, received, and dispensed
    • Prepare daily and monthly reports
    • Manage all diesel-related data

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric
    • 3 to 5 years experience in similar role preferably within a mining environment
    • MS Excel reporting

    Supervisor - Crushing & Screening Plant

    Purpose of the role:

    • To supervise and coordinate daily mobile crushing and screening operations within a coal mining environment, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with mine standards and legal requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Operational Supervision

    • Supervise daily operations of mobile crushers and mobile screening plants
    • Coordinate plant start-up, shutdown, changeovers, and material flow
    • Monitor production rates, throughput, coal quality, and screen sizing
    • Ensure correct feeding of ROM coal and removal of oversize or contamination
    • Identify and report plant inefficiencies and breakdowns

    Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

    • Enforce strict compliance with MHSA, site safety rules, and procedures
    • Conduct pre-start inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
    • Ensure safe operation of mobile equipment and traffic management
    • Stop unsafe work and report incidents, near misses, and hazards

    People Supervision

    • Supervise operators, general workers, and contractors on shift
    • Allocate tasks and monitor performance and discipline
    • Coach and mentor operators to improve skills and plant performance
    • Ensure attendance, shift handovers, and clear communication

    Maintenance & Reporting

    • Conduct daily plant inspections and basic fault finding
    • Report breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams
    • Complete production, downtime, and safety reports
    • Assist with planned maintenance and shutdown preparation

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Supervisory or mining-related certificate (Advantageous)
    • MHSA Legal Appointment (if applicable)

    Experience

    • 1–3 years’ experience in coal mining, quarrying, or aggregates
    • Hands-on experience with:
    • Mobile jaw/cone/impact crushers
    • Mobile screening plants
    • Exposure to ROM coal handling and coal processing operations
    • Acting supervisor or team leader experience (Advantageous)

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of mobile crushing and screening processes
    • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
    • Leadership and team coordination skills
    • Strong safety awareness and risk management mindset
    • Ability to work shifts and under production pressure

    Workshop Foreman

    • As a Workshop Foreman, your key responsibility will be to direct and supervise the activities of workshop personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and other support staff.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
    • Coordinating maintenance and repair activities for various types of equipment, including scheduling routine servicing and addressing breakdowns promptly
    • Ensuring that all work conducted in the workshop meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations and industry best practices
    • Managing inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure availability for repairs and minimizing downtime
    • Providing technical support and guidance to workshop staff, assisting with complex repairs or troubleshooting issues as needed
    • Identifying training needs and providing training to workshop personnel to enhance skills and knowledge in equipment maintenance and repair techniques
    • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory levels, and preparing reports for management as required
    • Interfacing with customers to understand their requirements, providing estimates for repair work, and ensuring customer satisfaction with the services provided
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe work practices
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and effectiveness
    • Liaising with other departments, such as procurement and production, to coordinate workflow and address any issues that may arise

    Minimum requirements:

    • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
    • A Diesel Mechanic/ Fitter trade test qualification
    • 3 to 5 years experience as a Workshop Supervisor with earthmoving equipment (none negotiable)
    • A valid driver’s license
    • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
    • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedule

    HR Administrator

    • The HR Administrator is responsible for supporting all human resources functions within the organization, ensuring effective employee relations, HR administration, compliance, training and development, time and attendance management, and workplace health and safety. The role maintains accurate employee records, assists with recruitment and disciplinary processes, manages HR systems such as SAP and XTime, administers COIDA claims, supports skills development initiatives, and ensures compliance with labour legislation and company policies. The position plays a key role in promoting employee welfare, operational efficiency, and organizational compliance while contributing to overall business objectives.

    Key Tasks :

    Employee Relations: 

    • Addressing employee questions and concerns  
    • Assisting with conflict resolution and disciplinary processes  
    • Ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies  
    • Assisting with workplace investigations  

    HR Administration:

    • Issue AOD's 
    • Credit Card Recons 
    • Monthly Vehicle Checklists                        
    • Raise PR's (SAP)

    • Create Tax directives on SARS  

    XTime:Time & Attendance: 

    • Load new employees and terminate employee’s on Xtime 
    • Register fingerprints on biometric readers for authorised access 
    • Generate and review timecards for monthly Hr reporting  
    • Monitor and track AWOL                                                      
    • Monitor and track employee tardiness                             
    • Capture and maintain leave tracker to ensure accurate processing for payroll. 

    Training and Development:

    • Identifying training needs  
    • Organizing training sessions and workshops  
    • Tracking employee training records  
    • Supporting career development initiatives  
    • Submission of ATR and WSP to merSETA 

    COIDA 

    • Register and maintain workplace injury and disease claims on Internal Compeasy      
    • Reimbursement of claims                                       
    • Annual assessment and submission of company's ROE 
    • ICT Transfer of Skills Plan 
    • Develop and update ICT Skills transfer programme 
    • Identify skills to transfer 
    • Draft training plan based on SOP's and update training plan as new SOP's are received 

    Other: 

    • Perform any other related duties in the interest of CEMZA as instructed.  
    • Work according to Integrated (Environmental and Quality) Management 
    • System requirements. 
    • Work according to Instructions / Procedures as pertaining to his/her  operation function as assigned and abide by all legal (laws/by-laws)  requirements / Company Policies and Practices

    Pit Superintendent

    Purpose of the role:

    • As a Pit Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of mining operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and driving operational efficiency. Lead and manage the mining operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Overseeing daily mining operations for enhanced efficiency and productivity
    • Plan, organise, lead and monitor the production process
    • Providing leadership and guidance to the mining team to achieve production targets
    • Implementing, reinforcing, and ensuring compliance to safety standards and protocols
    • Ensure optimal plant utilisation & availability

    • Computer literacy in MS Office
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation
    • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proven leadership and managerial skills
    • English proficiency
    • Good report writing skills
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test
