    Exports Commercial Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategy

    • Develop, present and ensure implementation of long-range, budget, tactical sales and business development strategies for the growth of the SBM portfolio 
    • Clearly define Route to Market (RTM) and design strategies and approaches for specialist distributors and project stake holders to maximise growth

    Customer Engagement

    • Management of customer relationships and ensuring sustained good levels of customer service & growth
    • Active involvement with introduction of new products and innovation by building an intimate understanding of customer needs to support development of suitable products and services offer

    Projects & Technical Specification

    • To align with and contribute to the execution of a project selling approach to capture opportunities across the SBM basket in the assigned territory in conjunction with the solutions team
    • Ensure development of the project pipeline, specifying the range of solutions including value-add and new products.

    Leadership

    • Lead, coach and develop the SBM technical sales team to increase their capability, commitment, drive and performance output so that the organization reaches its objectives, executes its strategies and progresses towards its vision.
    • Supporting the development of the retail teams in country with the aim of increasing their product knowledge and sales support ability

    Corporate Governance and Business Control

    • Contribute to the development, management and implementation of all commercial policies and procedures in accordance with ICRFand Group business control standards
    • Ensure a good Business control level in the assigned sales function in line with the SG business control framework

    Branding Visibility

    • Work closely with the Marketing Team and Trade Marketing to implement brand visibility and demand creation activities for our customers (and therefore us), which is clearly measurable and demonstrates the value we are creating for our customers – these being built into the account and market plans
    • To identify business growth/ promotion platforms such as exhibitions and trade missions around the markets and liaising with the respective internal stakeholders to enable tapping on such opportunities

    Industry Trends

    • To research feasibility studies and keep abreast of trends in the habitat space (both within SG and outside) and provide detailed updates to the business on such trends to ensure that the BU provides the latest solutions to tailor solutions and address the ever-evolving country’s specific needs

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Commercial/Civil Engineering/ Construction
    • A postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage
    • At least 10 years work experience, of which 5 must have been in a sales management position with proven ability on strategy/budget planning & implementation, business development, project processes and team development & coaching
    • A thorough knowledge, understanding and experience in selling and supporting on the waterproofing and construction chemicals solutions
    • Strong commercial acumen and demonstratable capability to make use of and derive meaning from data and the  P & L (analytical capability)
    • Commercial awareness – ability to identify opportunities and action
    • Construction industry experience with an emphasis on solution and multiple product-based selling - success at selling new concepts and products
    • Tenacity to see things through to completion in a difficult trading and business environment
    • Ability to think outside of existing customer groups or markets in seeking new opportunities
    • Excel, SAP, QlikView, PowerPoint & Sales Force knowledge
    • Proven negotiation skills in multicultural environment and at various management levels.

    Business Development Manager - Infrastructure

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Take accountability as a key member of regional sales team to ensure the development of viable commercial strategies and the consistent implementation of these strategies.
    • Drive new sales growth in large scale projects in the region by generating leads, building technical relationships, drafting specifications for new infrastructure, transport and energy development projects in the regions to ensure a pipeline of sales growth in large projects and initiatives for the region.
    • Accountable for the delivery of annual specifications revenue for the region to ensure sustainable business growth, including but not limited to: Responsible for profitable development of the region’s large scale project pipeline, specifying the range of solutions and new products
    • Ensuring regular stakeholder presentations on the business product offerings
    • Work across the supply chain, internal and external, engaging specifiers and influencers to promote system solutions following a Project Sales Activity process to ensure spec to order closure.
    • Driving appropriate volume/mix and desired service standards across the region.
    • Fostering strong customer relationships and customer intimacy in the team.
    • Taking personal accountability for key relationships in the industry i.e. Civil/Structural Engineers, Developers, Architects, etc. as required
    • Driving opportunities for market share increase in key growth segments.
    • Coaching and developing regional sales teams to enable them to provide appropriate project opportunities and deliver results within best practice project management approaches, marketing guidelines and customer relationship management (CRM) practices and other adopted company tools.
    • Communicate/embed the entire value proposition to the customer.
    • Articulate our value proposition, offering specification expertise and advice on the advantages of our comprehensive product range.
    • Proactively identifying new opportunities for enhanced specifications, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness and in-depth knowledge of customers’ businesses.
    • Achievement of local demand forecast in line with regional KPI.
    • Ensuring delivery of assigned CPD presentations to client base and where possible within associations to leverage brand, specification and technical expertise offering awareness from Saint-Gobain.
    • Work closely with the regional team to provide onsite support activities and warranty offering as appropriate.
    • Contribute to cross-functional working/relationships, pro-actively participating in and delivering on commitments within sectors to support and lead business goals.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications required to fulfil the role

    • Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Civil Engineering
    • Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Construction Management.
    • Civil Engineering qualification with a focus on construction material
    • Good working knowledge of current design packages e.g. AutoCAD
    • Driver license
    • At least 3 years proven technical expert within their field - experienced architectural technician, building services engineer would be advantageous
    • Successful promotion of engineered solutions /specifications
    • Engineering perspective with ability to identify innovative solutions
    • Ability to interpret technical designs from two dimensional to three dimensional.
    • Knowledge of construction process stages and ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency within a customers’ construction programme.

    Customer Service Team Lead

    Why do we need you ?

    • Monitoring of key metrics (Service Charter Compliance; Backorder Management, CSi and OTIF) to drive compliance, implement corrective actions and to deliver on customer and business expectations. Attend various weekly/monthly meetings as required.
    • Coaching, developing, supporting and motivating a team of consultants daily including performance reviews (One on one, annual and midyear performance reviews), implementation and monitoring of development plans.
    • Ensure the team is adequately resourced to meet daily expectations and to minimise disruptions.

    TPQC Engineer

    Why do we need you ?

    • Understand the importance and conform to the requirements of the various health; safety; quality and environment policies and procedures
    • Form part as an active member of the TPQC Pillar team
    • Drive adherence and improvement of QPC Quality Stations across the factory
    • Work upon multiple development projects as required. The objectives of these development projects will typically aim to avoid or reduce cost, lower long and short term material supply risks, improve product and process performance and develop new product offerings to the market.
    • Give analytical support during quality investigations (either internal quality failures or external customer complaints). Follow through on investigations from origin to implementation of countermeasures.
    • Assist with resolving process and product problems.
    • Write technical reports which state findings of investigations and suggested recommendations to improve; rectify; change; replace or adjust processes; formulations and raw materials to obtain the desired objectives. Drive implementation of recommendations upon approval.
    • Ensure all testing equipment on the factory is adherent to standard methods and calibrated as per calibration plans.
    • Pro-active identification of wearing or ageing equipment. Research new and innovative measurement technics to improve Laboratory capabilities.
    • Manage laboratory consumables and chemicals, place orders timeously and ensure adherence to chemical handling standards.
    • Manage shift Laboratory assistants including shift rosters, leave and time management, training and development plans and performance evaluations.

    • The ideal candidate must have completed a matric and a degree in Chemical Engineering. It would be advantageous should the candidate possess quality control/management qualification. Must have at least three to five years’ experience in a chemical/process and quality engineering position in a continuous process manufacturing environment. The candidate must have two years’ experience in a management/leadership role. The required candidate should be familiar with management of the autonomous maintenance pillar, application of 5s improvement projects and should be able to apply the basic tools (OPLs, SOPs, Tags, QKs, EWO’s, etc)

    • The role’s objective is to develop and introduce Quality control and process improvements using the tools within the Q&PC Pillar linking through to step Zero. The primary objective will be to improve process performance KPI’s focussing on the key areas of Yield loss, and customer complaints. Also involved in WCM projects within the plant that links to Product Quality and take lead in raw material trials and New Product Developments. To undertake these tasks in an efficient safe manner meeting with SHE legislation, company policy and Managers rules.
