    Process Operator Gr 2

    Purpose of Job

    • The main purpose of this role is to ensure efficient operations of the plant. This position requires dayshift operator and will report to the Production Foreman Dayshift cyanide plant

    Key Accountabilities

    • Physical labor intensive dayshift activities to support plant operation in a high heat environment
    • Driving of forklift and use of portable tool
    • Operating of Jackhammer
    • The taking of plant samples
    • Process safe making
    • Conduct visual inspections on process equipment
    • Identifying/solving problems
    • Examine safety equipment and complete safety checklist
    • Report process deviations to foreman
    • Defect reporting
    • Safety and housekeeping
    • Cleaning of the plant
    • Comply to all OSH ACT requirements
    • Comply to Sasol safety rules and codes
    • Communicate and assist team members in controlling the process
    • Positive interacting with clients
    • Liaison with plant personnel and other plants on site
    • Support Sasol values and goals
    • Adhere and manage own personal development (PDP)

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 with English, Mathematics & Science
    • NQF 4 (wish)
    • Driver’s license (must)
    • Forklift license (wish)

    Work Experience

    • Experience in the Cyanide environment will be an advantage (wish)

    Additional Requirements

    • Physically fit and healthy as the job is labor intensive in a high heat and hazardous environment
    • Required to do Standby afterhours and weekend.
    • Operating of forklift and crane
    • Confined space and working at heights will be required

    Snr Performance Analyst Refinery

    Purpose of Job

    • This role supports the Natref JV business facing activities focusing on Refinery operational performance monitoring and management. The role supports the Performance Manager – Wholesale, Overland & Refining in business partnering with the Refining team to help drive performance and meet financial targets. The role provides Key performance Indicators (KPI) analysis and helps challenge the business on operational performance. It is responsible for the Refining and Supply Operation Review (RSO) with Refinery team and helps co-ordinate the roll-up of the below the line refinery processes. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for the Refining operational and financial (income statement, finance KPI’s etc.) performance. The role also assists the Performance Supply Team, including the consolidation of the vulnerabilities and opportunities and tracking of Sasol 2.0 initiatives relating to Supply and Refining.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Calculation of the gross and net refining margins, analysis thereof against plan, budget and prior periods. Hold discussion with Planning and Trading team in analysing the refining margin and providing reasons for variance to Group and other stakeholders Manage month end processes and procedures relating to Refining including management of SAP system and ensuring the system reflects accurate and complete financial results. Manage the Refining Income statement and provide variance against budget and forecast. Responsible for robust forecasting and budgeting processes within refining and variance analysis to comparative periods. Co-ordination with Natref JV in understanding crude processing in actuals and obtain an understanding of deviations against budget and forecast. Finance representative in working groups (where applicable) for Natref Refinery scenario planning. Ad-hoc requests from internal and external auditors and external consultants. Prepare results presentation and present to VP JV Trading and JV Management. Monitoring of Refining related Sasol 2.0 initiatives and assessing actuals against targets. Support in the delivery of an optimised Refinery assessment to the business. Overall accountability for: Forms part and contributes to the monthly Natref JV refinery planning meeting (including helping set the agenda, developing meeting materials where applicable, etc.) Assists in identifying business risks and opportunities, in consultation with the business, ensuring that risks and opportunities are clearly understood and that actions are in place to mitigate and manage these. Leads analysis and makes suggestions for interventions on behalf of the business; appropriate optimisation kpi’s are tracked and reported, and ensure that performance dashboards are updated for the Natref JV & Trading meetings. Assists with ensuring that key business issues are reconciled, recommendations are proposed, and the information pack is prepared in order to support effective JV Trading and JV Management meetings Assist with the delivery of key projects within Refining (finance representative).

    Minimum requirement: Formal Education and Experience

    • University Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Finance or Engineering (Chemical) with a minimum 6 years of relevant finance experience in the refining oil and gas industry.

    Snr Artisan Instrument Mechanician

    Purpose of Job

    • An Artisan Instrument Mechanician supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Execution of tasks associated with maintenance inspections and strategies including trip tests. Calibration and maintenance of instrumentation: Level, Flow, Pressure and Temperatures. An ability to read and interpret instrument loop drawings, control logic diagrams, data sheets and associated technical documents. Knowledge of EX and IS standards for hazardous areas. Installation, testing and commissioning of instrumentation in accordance with Sasol specifications. Proactive identification of instrumentation defects and mal-functioning. Implementation of preventative maintenance activities. (Schedule work) Need strong instrumentation and control system skills to do proper fault-finding and preventive maintenance. Conduct data extraction and analysis from DCS/SIS PLC during fault-finding exercises (fault finding, trends etc.)

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 with Math’s, Science, English with the NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification
    • Red Seal (WISH)

    Min Experience

    • 3 - 5 years relevant experience
    • Experience on petro-chemical equipment (added advantage)

    Good knowledge of the following systems:

    • SIEMENS S7 Knowledge (WISH)
    • DCS knowledge
    • ESD/SIS knowledge
    • Electrical & Instrument Loop drawings detail interpretation 
    • Read and interpret MFD (Mechanical flow diagram or Process flow diagram)
    • PLC fault-finding hardware & software 

    Additional Requirements

    • Driver’s license (minimum code 8)
    • Have own transport
    • Perform standby duties

    Skills Academy Training Coordinator

    Purpose of Job

    • Coordinate and perform the Learning administration required to support and enable the delivery of learning to employees within the academy.  Support the Learning Manager with reporting.  Record keeping and archiving of all learning interventions.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Coordination of all Discretionary Grants activities 
    • Coordinate QALA administration applications & reports 
    • Keeping the Learning Management System updated for reporting purposes.
    • Creating a database, compilation & labelling of boxes with archived files & documents.
    • Electronic Scanning of documents. Compiling of an index per box and indicating files sent on Academy database.
    • Coordinate RPL, ARPL & Trade Test related admin activities for non-contracted candidates.
    • Update and submit ARPL & Trade Test Stat reports to NAMB. (for contracted and non-contracted candidates.)
    • Follow up on outstanding certificates with CHIETA, NAMB & QCTO.
    • Registration of 18.2 (NPE) & 18.1 Learners 
    • Validate Learnership Agreements and Employee contracts and follow up on errors and outstanding signatures & compulsory documents.  
    • Constant follow up on learner certification processes. 
    • Complete, submit and file Terminations & Extension of Learnership Agreement forms to CHIETA.
    • Update LMS for reporting purposes.

    Formal Education

    • High School / School Diploma or similar

    Working Experience

    • 3+ relevant years of experience  
    • Knowledge of Discretionary Grants for Learnerships
    • Knowledge of National Artisan Moderating Body (NAMB) administration processes
    • Knowledge of QALA application & Learner certification processes
    • knowledge of Learnership registration processes with SETA's & QCTO
