Job Description

• To ensure that sound governance is applied in managing all risk types within Standard Insurance Limited (SIL) in line with BU Risk Appetite and Policies for SIL and the Standard Bank Group, with specific focus on Third Party Risk and monitoring of SIL’s third parties.
• This function will also oversee and manage SIL’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Type of Qualification: B.Com Law/LLB or equivalent, Risk Management Degree or Internal Audit
• Field of Study: Law, Business Commerce, Risk and Auditing

Experience Required

• 5-7 years experience Compliance monitoring / auditing experience, development or sound monitoring methodologies and owning the end-to-end monitoring process.

Experience on the following would represent an advantage to the role:

• Experience as a compliance officer / auditor
• Experience in business management / risk management
• Insurance industry experience

Job Description

• To translate SBG data vision and strategy as well as the relevant CIB Technology strategy into data strategies to support SBG objectives. To implement the data strategy by coordinating and facilitating data programmes to enable consistent and effective data driven business decisions. To advise, plan & report on the Data & Analytics, Automation, Integration and Regulatory IT Portfolio technology functions, enabling implementation of the Business strategy. To enforce governance and compliance, ensuring alignment to the relevant Group frameworks, policies and standards, including compliance to data protection legislation. • Experience in IT capabilities that drive business value creation, Management Information Systems (MIS) and Business Intelligence (BI).  Understanding of the impact of implementing information system projects on data management, integration and data analytics.
• Understanding of financial analysis and finance information system capabilities.  Demonstrated ability to manage Profit and Loss (P&L).
• Experience managing functional teams responsible for data management and governance.
