    Manager: EHS Regional

    Purpose of Role: 

    The Regional SHE Manager will be responsible for the strategy and leading as well as implementation of all Safety, Health and Environmental systems across all business operations of South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa to meet the Regional and Divisional Strategy. Reporting into the Regional head of SHEQ Africa & the Middle East - the role is to be based in Alrode, South Africa.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure Weir Group’s SHE Charter is fully respected via full implementation of internal protocols and procedures across sites.
    • Review, improve and manage SHE and sustainability structures, systems (ISO14001 / ISO45001 / Weir Group Standards)  and resources to ensure it remains risk based and is an organisational fit with the business model
    • Maintain timely and effective communication with sites, in order to provide positive feedback to motivate good SHE performance, ensure that all employees have current and accurate information required for safe job performance.
    • Manage staff performance, succession and development.
    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • 10+ years’ experience as a SHE Manager in a manufacturing / heavy engineering environment
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
    • Solid understanding of relevant SHE legislation across the region
    • Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment or equivalent
    • High Level of computer literacy
    • Lead Auditor Course
    • ICAM Lead Investigator Course
    • Environmental Legal Course
    • OSH Act Legal Course
    • Valid driver’s license

    Business Administration Learnership

    Purpose of Role: 

    • The learner will acquire theoretical knowledge.
    • Practical training (workplace and simulated workplace training).
    • External integrated Summative assessment.
    • The learner will acquire effective communication skills.

    • Matric with Maths and Science above 60%
    • Good communication skills and
