    Fund Principal – Unlisted Investments (Rest of Africa)

    Purpose of the role:

    • To provide leadership and strategic vision for fund investment business.

    Requirements:

    • Commercial Bachelor’s Degree ( i.e. B.Com, B. Acc, B. Bus )
    • B Com (Honours) or B.SC (Honours) in Financial Management
    • Post Graduate Degree (Masters, MBA, etc) CFA or CA would be advantage
    • At least 8 – 10 years in the investment industry
    • FAIS Representative
    • Industry and sectorial research and knowledge
    • Strong deal sourcing and execution skills
    • Investment Analysis and Management

    Duties:

    • Develop and implement an investment strategy and philosophy.
    • Evaluate investment proposals in terms of valuations, risks, cash flow and commercial viability.
    • Financial structuring of proposals, including debt, equity and pricing to achieve the required IRR.
    • Ensures external and internal due diligences are appropriately scoped, project managed, cost-controlled and quality checked to ensure all risks are identified.
    • Present investment proposals that fit with PIC’s investment strategy to EXCO, IC and PIC Board.
    • Assist with legal documentation and disbursements.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of investments and ensure appropriate corporate governance to minimise impairment and maximise returns.
    • Add strategic value to investments and arrange exits.
    • Responsible for ensuring proposals are timeously declined or, if commercially viable, are processed quickly and effectively; to ensure fast turnaround times.
    • Development, training and mentoring of the investment team.

    CEO Driver

    Purpose of the role:

    • To ensure the safe, efficient, and secure transportation of the CEO. This involves not only driving the CEO to various destinations but also providing personal protection to mitigate any potential risks or threats.

    Requirements:

    • Matric with experience in law enforcement, private security or related;
    • Licensing: Valid Code B, C1, or EB driver’s license, typically accompanied by a
    • Professional Driving Permit (PrDP);
    • Advanced driving certification;
    • A minimum of 10 years’ Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably for highprofile individuals;
    • Proficiency in security protocols and emergency response;
    • Valid firearm competency certificate and license will be an added advantage; and
    • Proficiency in computer literacy (MS Office), excellent verbal and written communication, and sound interpersonal skills.

    Duties:

    • Safely transport the CEO to and from various locations, including meetings, events.
    • Maintain the vehicle in excellent condition, ensuring regular servicing, cleanliness, and readiness for use.
    • Plan and research optimal routes to avoid traffic and ensure timely arrivals.
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, always prioritising safety.
    • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential threats to the CEO.
    • Implement security measures to protect the CEO during transit and at various locations.
    • Maintain a high level of situational awareness and readiness to respond to emergencies.
    • Coordinate with other security personnel and law enforcement as needed.
    • Ensure the CEO's confidentiality and privacy are always maintained.
    • Keep detailed records of travel schedules, vehicle maintenance, and any incidents.
    • Assist with logistical planning for the CEO's travel and events.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO or executive team.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

    Legal Advisor - Listed

    Purpose of the role:

    • To provide legal advice on listed transactions and commercial law matters and transactions, and investment legal advisory services of the PIC.

    Requirements:
    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB)
    • Admitted attorney of the High Court with between 3-5 years post articles
    • Excellent and good quality drafting of investment agreements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master of Laws Degree (LLM)
    • Postgraduate Degree (with a relevant focus on investment legal)

    Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement

    • Review documents in relation to derivatives instruments ISDAs and GMSLAs
    • Identify new and amendments to investment legislation that impact PIC and facilitate training for employees.
    • Manage and coordinate legal instructions and attorneys on the panel
    • Provide training to staff

    Head Listed Equities

    Purpose of the role:

    • Coordinate all internally managed listed equity investment functions of the PIC (domestic and nondomestic) to ensure that the listed equity utility delivers on its mandated objectives. Drive PIC’s vision in the internally managed Listed Equity space.

    Requirements:
    Minimum Qualifications and experience:

    • Honours degree in Commerce or Finance
    • A minimum of 15 years relevant experience with at least 5 years being at a Senior Management level
    • FAIS Key Individual (can be achieved within 6 months of appointment)
    • FAIS Key Representative

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in commerce or finance

    Professional Body/Association:

    • SAICA /CFA Institute

    Duties:

    • Ensure the internal strategic vision and management of Listed Equities are aligned with the overall objectives of the PIC strategy for listed equity investments.
    • Portfolio Management of Domestic Listed Equities (Enhanced Beta) within set risk parameters, to achieve client return objectives.
    • Oversight of the PICs unit trust offering in the Listed Equity division.
    • Coordinate the Management of the Internal Listed Equity Composite (Enhanced, Strategic, Passive).
    • Ensure quality listed equity research.
    • Oversight of Listed Africa ex-SA Equity: Internal Portfolio.
    • Oversight of Listed Offshore Equity: Internal Portfolio.
    • Asset allocation process contribution.
    • Provide investment input to all clients – internal or external.
    • Lead a dynamic team of professionals within the Internal Listed equities.
    • Incorporation of ESG into the investment process.
    • Implementation of PIC global equity strategy (core/satellite).
