    Senior Occupational Hygiene Technologist

    You will be responsible for:

    • Performing occupational health risk assessments (under guidance of the appointed Occupational Hygienist).
    • Conduct surveys of workplaces with potential occupational health hazards in the form of chemical hazards, physical hazards, ergonomic hazards, biological hazards or psychological hazards.
    • Evaluate and quantify the levels of the different hazards present by making use of specialized equipment and instrumentation.
    • Organize the taking of samples for airborne pollutants and components, fumes, gases, vapours or mists.
    • Compare findings of assessments and surveys with statutory exposure limits in order to determine if a potential hazardous situation exits.
    • Recommend on controls for risk mitigation.
    • Conduct ergonomically orientated surveys to alter the working environment to minimize hazards to the employee.
    • Detect sociological or psychological stresses among the
    • workforce, which they may interpret erroneously as secondary to contact with physical or chemical agents.
    • Identify risks and controls in the Potable water quality program
    • To analyze findings correctly and to compare findings to recognized national as well as international standards where available.
    • Study in depth occupational hygiene impacts. Formulate and submit recommendations for the correction of hazardous exposures through the correct application of the hierarchy of controls, improved housekeeping, and substitution of hazardous substances with less hazardous substances, isolation of processes, which are the sources of hazardous substances and as a last possible resort, providing PPE.
    • Assist in regularly communicating progress of Operation against occupational hygiene targets and objectives via a design communication, supervisory and management forum to all concerned
    • Assist in evaluating, monitoring and providing continuous feedback to the Operation regarding the occupational hygiene performance efficiencies and standards
    • Ensure that the occupational hygiene standards and procedures are up to date and understood and followed by the teams
    • Encourage co-operation and teamwork between maintenance and production personnel regarding occupational hygiene matters
    • Implement and maintain applicable occupational hygiene Regulations, Acts, Codes of practice and standards
    • Liaise with Risk Management team and Occupational Hygienist for Operation risk assessment

    You must have: 

    • 5 years of Occupational Hygiene experience in a processing environment.

    Qualifications:

    You must have the following qualifications: 

    • BSc/Honours/Bachelors/BTech Degree in Environmental Health/Occupational Hygiene/Industrial Physiology or Science related degrees. 
    • Registered with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygienists [SAIOH] on Technologist or Hygienist Level, together with the Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control

    Job Description:

    • Support the management of end-to-end project procurement, at a tactical, operational and strategic level to ensure security of supply, cost control, sustainability and optimal supplier performance for declared projects.

    Head of Plant

    Key role requirements:

    • Lead and manage the Plant specialist team, provide guidance, support and overarching strategy.

    Manager Physical Supply Chain - West

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Contribute to the overall Supply Chain strategy and translate it into a regional specific strategy, critical tasks and performance targets.
    • Manage the budget associated with PSC activities in the region.

    Fix Term Electrician UG

    Some of the key responsibilities for this role includes:

    • Conduct safety meetings and Risk Assessments.
    • Reporting on safety and deviations and record results of all legal examinations.
    • Achievement of safe production performance levels through the effective maintenance, installation and commissioning of equipment.

    Your duties will include:

    Supervisor Mine Underground

    Key responsibilities of this role are:

    • Ensure the maintenance of proper discipline of all persons under your charge.
    • Daily on-the-job coaching and on-site training sessions should be conducted and captured in the logbook.
    • Provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without undue risk to the health of employees within your area of responsibility.
    • Make use of the latest Risk Matrix provided in the logbook to assess and eliminate or reduce risks
    • Ensure that you and the persons under your charge are empowered to stop any working place when the Occupational Health and/or Safety of any such persons are endangered in terms of section 23 of the MHSA.
    • Consider an employee’s training and capability, knowledge and skill in respect of Health and Safety before allowing such person to continue with his work or before assigning specific or specialized tasks to that employee.
    • Assist in the control over the proper safe operation and running of machinery and equipment in your area of responsibility.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric/ Grade 12
    • National Certificate NQF Level 3 Rock Breaker or Valid Blasting Certificate for underground (Hard Rock)
    • Shift Supervisor Certificate
    • Mine overseer certificate - Advantageous

    Experience:

    • 5 years’ experience as a Mechanised Shift Supervisor (Shift Boss)
    • 3 Years' Previous experience as a mechanised miner – advantageous

    Specialist Underground Fleet

    Your duties will include:

    • Advise fleet owner on asset strategy for owned fleet part
    • Conduct community of practices with shared experiences, best practices and develop joint programs of work (Centre and Site improvements)
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Defect Elimination as required
    • Prepare centralised data set for owned fleet that feeds into E&M master data
    • Run AMT models and develop reliability block diagrams with input data from sites, OEMs and statistical models

    Engineering Specialist Production

    The responsibilities for the role:

    • Visit sites and equipment locations on the plant and undertake equipment audits and inspections in respect to engineering workmanship, quality and compliance with engineering policies, procedures and standards.
    • Interface with regulatory agencies for complaint investigation and technical interchanges to present the company viewpoint, and during regulatory inspections serve as the subject matter expert.
    • Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function.
    • Assess equipment criticality and performance trends analysis to assure systemic problems are identified and make the necessary decisions or changes to current maintenance practices to remedy and fix the problems arising.
    • Liaises with planners to ensure inspection and audit findings are scheduled for remediation in accordance with the established priorities. 
    • Undertake to plan and maintain the critical spares and sub assembly register for all mechanical related apparatus for the mining area.
    • Continuously reviews equipment task lists in the ERP- SAP system in light of maintenance improvements, equipment developments and modifications.
    • Conducts RCM exercises for all new equipment before commissioning establishing the maintenance strategies and task lists to be adopted.
    • Select, train, motivate, and develop a highly technical staff with expertise in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive and condition-based maintenance systems.
    • Ensures that a material management strategy is in place. 
    • Ensures compliance to OHSA / MHSA, and domestic requirements in all maintenance facilities provided.
    • Assist in the management of Engineering teams to ensure compliance and delivery of departmental requirements and KPI's.

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Minimum N4 certificate, preferably N6 certificate.
    • Relevant Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering
    • AAP law and standards Certificate

    Knowledge Specific to role:

    • Conversant with MHSA and the OHSA acts 
    • Demonstrated skill in managing people and resources

    Section Engineering Manager Production

    Job Description:

    • The Section Engineering Manager is appointed in terms of the OHSA as 2.1 provide overall management and is accountable for the overall engineering and asset management across a clearly defined portion of the overall complex operation.
    • Contribute to the development of the strategic operational plans and strategy with direct accountability for the execution of such strategies within the area of accountability.

    • Asset integrity and critical spares inclusive of application for SIB capital to de-risk operation. Develop an adequate set of measures to monitor plant and equipment performance.
    • Manages implements and contributes to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives and projects for engineering processes.
    • This role is in the Engineering department on a Band 6 level, reporting to the Engineering Manager

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant Tertiary qualification - BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    • GCC OHSA

    Experience: 

    • Five years Post Engineering qualification experience
