Manager Physical Supply Chain - West at Anglo American

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the overall Supply Chain strategy and translate it into a regional specific strategy, critical tasks and performance targets.
• Manage the budget associated with PSC activities in the region.
• Identify and manage the execution and rollout of technology and innovative practices and services though cross-functional collaboration across the region that supports business strategy, operational and safety improvements
• Support the implement a reporting platform that enables visibility and the management of key KPIs in line with overall business strategy (both leading and lagging indicators)
• Oversee warehousing cost, maintenance and/or internal budgets. 
• Manage the regional integration with Operational Excellence, Logistics Development, Materials Planning and Warehouse Management on performance and improvement areas.
• Establish a regional strategic material planning capability, including predictive demand management.

Qualifications:

• An undergraduate qualification - Bachelor degree level or equivalent
• Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masters degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity

Experience

• Knowledge of Supply Chain management and interdependencies within a regional context (category management, sourcing & contracts, purchasing, physical supply chain and linkages to other functions) and specialist knowledge of warehousing, logistics and inventory management
• Advanced understanding of how to optimise the transition warehouse & logistics operations to a third-party Managed Service Provider, the identification and management of associated risks and the effective ongoing management.
• Knowledge of how to embed a more sustainable PSC (circular economy, carbon & water footprint reduction, inclusive procurement, doing business with responsible suppliers etc.)
