About the role

• The Security Systems Technician is responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of security and surveillance systems across company sites.
• The role is responsible for ensuring that security technology systems are installed, maintained and operating effectively, while providing technical support to operational teams and end-users.
• The Security Systems Technician will report directly to the Regional Technical Manager

What you will bring

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid PSIRA Registration and certificate.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
• Clear criminal record.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electronic security industry.
• Proven experience in CCTV installation and maintenance, with IP cameras preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in alarm systems.
• Knowledge and experience in access control systems.
• Knowledge and experience in electric fencing systems.
• Knowledge and experience in intercom systems.
• Experience in network cabling and structured cabling.
• Fibre and wireless networking experience will be advantageous.
• Basic computer hardware and software support skills.
• Experience in the installation of poles, cabinets and field equipment.
• Experience with solar-powered security systems will be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.

What you will be doing

• Install, configure and maintain security systems, including CCTV, RVV, access control, alarm monitoring systems and IoT sensors.
• Conduct site assessments and provide quotations for security system installations.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair faulty security hardware and software.
• Perform system upgrades and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
• Support Control Room operations by integrating, maintaining and troubleshooting security technologies.
• Provide technical support to operational teams and end-users.
• Train operational staff and end-users on the effective use of security systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and prepare reports relating to installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections of security systems and equipment.
• Ensure all installations and maintenance work comply with Company, client and applicable industry requirements.
• Identify system faults and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as required in support of effective security technology operations.

About the role:

• This role delivers client service by taking inbound calls and making outbound calls in adherence to procedural, productivity and quality standards. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

Decision making authority:

• Works independently within a broad framework of existing policies and guidelines. Fast and efficient handling of queries. Facilitate the smooth flow of documentation between company offices. Reporting. Ensures that more complex queries are escalated appropriately and resolved.

• 3-5 years relevant experience.

What you will be doing:

• Attend to calls & requests directed through the call centre from 00:00 - 23:59.
• Assign & generate job cards for clients, technicians and suppliers.
• Communication with Facilities Managers relating to calls.
• Follow up with clients/tenants & technicians re job cards issued.
• Create purchase orders accurately by processing on our systems.
• Share purchase orders to service providers.
• Ensure processing is accurately done.
• Fast & efficient handling of queries with vendors/tenants/suppliers.
• Ensure that a high level of service is maintained between clients (internal & external).
• Maintain the administration & filing system for all documentation.
• Facilitate the smooth flow of documentation between company offices.
• Provide reception duties.
