Fresh Roles at Palabora Copper (Pty) Limited

The incumbent will be responsible to create detailed project plans and ensure that teams follow the activities outlined in the plans to deliver projects scheduled and within budget and assist the Project Engineer to improve performance and efficiency by identifying and evaluating risks that can derail project delivery.

 Key responsibilities will include:

• Estimating the projects timeline through all project phases.
• Generating project S-curves on major projects to reflect forecasting and project status.
• Monitoring project progress and update relevant plans and schedules accordingly.
• Overseeing schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results.
• Reports on deviations to the original project plan that can lead to serious delays and budget overruns.
• Preparing and presenting internal and external project reports for stakeholders.
• Providing comprehensive project data to teams to help them work effectively.
• Collaborating with teams and other stakeholders on short and long-term plans for resource allocation and work scheduling.
• Identifying key variances within projects and presentation of effective and compelling data in support of findings.
• Assisting the project engineer to improve performance and efficiency.
• Determining internal resource levels and external contractors required for effective project execution, design, and commissioning.
• Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, and Contractors to accelerate progress and ensure workflow is aligned with PMC requirements.
• Overseeing construction and commissioning planning by consolidating contractor plans with plan input.
• Providing feedback and liaise with clients with regard to the progress or potential delays of projects.
• Maintaining and improving safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
• Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job at the discretion of the Manager.

  Qualifications & Experience:

• N4/National Diploma or B-Tech in Engineering studies.
• Project Management Qualification will be advantageous.
• 5 years planning and scheduling experience in mining or heavy industrial project environment.
• Computer skills: Advance MS Projects, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
• Valid Driver’s license.

The incumbent will be responsible for planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure availability and optimum utilization of the equipment in a safe effective and operating conditions.

 Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and practices.
• Developing and setup SAP (MPA) master data to enable maintenance teams to effectively manage assets.
• Planning and managing SAP upgrades and patches.
• Training the business on Asset Management Planning Systems (Work Management, Shutdown management) and SAP (MPA) courses to middle management level employees.
• Providing reliable and effective management information and business system support in SAP.
• Managing Physical Asset (MPA) module.
• Performing all data extraction and analysis of MPA information for management and provide management information as required by the business and all audit requirements.
• Developing an excellent understanding of business processes and value drivers.
• Various data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting activities associated with managing assets.
• Identifying opportunities for improving maintenance performance (efficiency & cost).
• Leading a team of asset management Data Capturers and Relief Maintenance Schedulers
• Analysing problems and alert relevant people in the organization.
• Attending and participate in SHEQ meetings.
• Day -to- day supervision of subordinate.
• Managing the performance of subordinates.
• Managing time and attendance of subordinates.

 Qualifications & Experience:

• National Diploma in Asset Management.
• Mechanical or electrical trade test certificate will be advantageous.
• 5 Years Maintenance Planning experience, and a well-developed understanding of Winders, Conveyors, Upcast Fans, and Chillers.
• Data Analysis with an Advanced level in Excel and Data Manipulation
• Competence in the use of MS Office.
• Excellent understanding of SAP (MPA).
