    GP Deputy Head - Girls Education

    Description

    • The Girls’ Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 September 2024 (negotiable).
    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

    The requirements for this position are:

     

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience, particularly in Girls’ Education
    • Vast experience in dealing with and managing transformation and diversity matters
    • Experience in facilitating student leadership and girl empowerment programmes
    • Understands the pastoral care, socio-emotional and discipline matters facing girls
    • The ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders
    • Understanding of the social, emotional learning (SEL) Curriculum and the ability to teach Senior subjects in Intermediate and/or Senior phase would be advantageous
    • A sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education and be willing to teach
    • An understanding of integrating Girls’ Education into the curriculum, Arts & Culture and Extramural Programmes
    • An understanding of budget management and financial planning
    • A high level of organisational, managerial, administrative and communication skills
    • Previous experience in a leadership position within an ISASA school would be advantageous
    • Proof of registration with SACE and a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
    • An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
    • A willingness to work within the Methodist Church based ethos of the College

    Assistant Squash Coach

    Description

    • The Boys’ College is inviting applications for an Assistant Squash coach vacancy which will be available from 01 June 2024.
    • Candidates should be passionate about sport, possess a growth mindset and a vision of developing students with excellent character.
    • Candidates should have a values-based leadership style that complements the Sports values of the Boys’ College.
    • The contract will be for one year, with an annual review upon the conclusion of each season.

    Requirements:

    • SSA level 1 coaching certification.
    • Proven performance of coaching and mentoring student athletes; including experience in the pastoral space
    • Relevant sport related sport qualifications
    • Clearance from the National Register for Sex Offenders (NRSO) confirming no record of sexual offences against children and mentally impaired people or a valid police clearance certificate
    • Ability to manage practices and work nights and/or weekends
    • Conflict management skills
    • Proven ability to work with diverse teams and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
    • Understands and adheres to the by-laws, policies, procedures, regulations, and rules of St Stithians Boys’ College
