    Insurance Sales Administration Assistant TEMP (ISA001)

    Systems Administrator

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The server & network infrastructure team is seeking a Systems Administrator (with strong Linux expertise) to join its team. You will require a proven track record with at least 5+ years’ experience in a similar role having supported Linux Systems in an enterprise environment. You will also preferably be certified on CentOS, RedHat or Oracle Linux. Firewall related knowledge and skill is an advantage. 

    IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

    • Install, configure, support and maintain Linux servers in development, test and production environments.
    • Investigate and troubleshoot performance and other issues.
    • Maintain design and support documentation.
    • Possess strong general knowledge of Infrastructure services relevant to Linux like DNS, NTP, network, security hardening and other common Linux services
    • Administer Enterprise storage systems like NetApp, EMC, etc.
    • Create and maintain Bash scripts for automation and other tasks.
    • Install, configure, and maintain a wide variety of open source and enterprise applications on Linux.
    • Ensure systems are backed up and can be restored in the event of a disaster.
    • Maintain a disaster recovery site.
    • Support and maintain Microsoft servers including Active Directory and File Servers.
    • Provide 3rd level support to the service desk for email, desktop and other end-user related issues.
    • Monitor system health using existing monitoring tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise.
    • Liaise with external service providers to outsource certain tasks and projects.

    Senior Linux Specialist - Western Cape

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The server & network infrastructure team is seeking a strong Linux Specialist to join them. You’ll require a proven track record with at least 7+ years’ experience in a similar role, in which you supported Linux Systems in an enterprise environment. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

    • Install, configure, support and maintain Linux servers in development, test and production environments.
    • Work closely with the development team to improve ooba’s DevOps capabilities.
    • Play a leading role in ooba’s Cloud journey.
    • Investigate and troubleshoot performance and other issues.
    • Maintain, design and support documentation.
    • Install, configure and maintain a wide variety of open source and enterprise applications on Linux.
