    Handyman

    Minimum Requirements    

    • N3 or equivalent (trades related) (± 40% Electrical and 60% Mechanical)
    • 1 years’ valid experience
    •  Valid Code EB Drivers’ Licence

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Storage and Maintenance of Tools

    • Monitor that power tools,handtools maintenance equipment are kept in good working condition and stored safely.
    • Report broken tools/equipment to the Maintenance Manager and, where possible repair broken maintenance tools.
    • Identify the types of tools, equipment and materials required.
    • Once work has been completed, request that the supervisor inspect the workmanship.
    • Perform duties as per requirements to eliminate down time or eliminate hazards / safety issues.

    General Repairs and Maintenance

    • Replace faulty globes and tubes.
    • Repair and/or replace all electrical equipment (where qualified to).
    • Fix any safety hazards.
    • Assemble and repair furniture and other equipment.
    • Install appliances and machinery.
    • Do plumbing and carpentry.
    • Refrigeration Technician
    • Liaise with contractors and other workers.

    Attend to:

    • Broken and collapsing ceilings
    • Roof Leaks
    • Painting of buildings , structure, equipment and ceilings
    • Water proofing of roofs and insulated ceilings.
    • Replace broken window panes.
    • Replace doors, hinges and locks.
    • Perform paving ,fence and gate repairs
    • Perform basic bricklaying and plastering.
    • Repair and/or replace leaking gutters and downpipes.
    • Carry out wall and floor tiling as necessary.

    Safety, Health. Environment, Risk and Quality (SHEQ)

    • Maintain a secure working environment.
    • Maintain a safe working environment.
    • Comply with health and safety procedures.
    • Ensure that documentation required within the Total Integrated Management System (TIMS), is applied consistently within scope of function.

    SHER System Administrator

    • The purpose of the role: To facilitate the implementation of the SHE systems to reduce Occupational Health, Safety and environmental risks.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • SAMTRAC
    • ISO 45001 certificate
    • Microsoft Office
    • Minimum of 1– 2 years’ experience is required in a similar capacity within an FMCG environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    The successful candidate will be responsible: 

    • Compiling SHER reports providing data and statistics according to organisational requirements.
    • Assist in ISO 45001 implementation.
    • Assist Safety officer in day-to-day implementation of ISO systems.
    • Compile, review and audit of procedures and systems
    • Assist in the closing of findings after Audits by creating Gap lists.
    • Tracking of Gap lists
    • Participate in audits & inspections.
    • Establish, develop, and maintain SHER policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Design, implement and apply, the SHER and Quality Management Systems, processes, and procedures according to organisational and legislative requirements.
    • Scheduling of SHER trainings.
    • Updating and maintaining training matrix
    • Compile and submit safety files when required.
    • Assist with site audits when required.
    • Raise and track major non-conformances for SHER-related audits.
    • Ability to understand and implement legal requirements for Health and Safety
    • Safety related communication and tracking such as toolbox talks and safety alerts.
    • Track safety suggestions made by employees.
    • Analyse near miss trends.
    • Capture and track incidents according to the incident Management Directive.
    • Responds to SHE related matters.
    • Updates SHE communication notice boards.
    • Assist management & supervision in compiling HIRA’s for their areas
    • Ensure compliance to the legal requirements (OHS Act, NEMA & other related legislation) and develop measures to address/mitigate risks.
