    Cashier

    • The cashier is responsible to process all cash/card transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The jobholder will play a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. Duties and responsibilities of the cashier will include greeting customers when entering or leaving the store, maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area and keeping reports of cash and card transactions.

    Job Requirements:

    • Matric
    • 2-3 years working experience in retail cashier or sales environment
    • Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc.)
    • Strong communication and time management skills
    • Customer satisfaction-oriented
    • Attention to detail and mathematical skills
    • Ability to stand, walk, lift items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.
    • Sales skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and proving a receipt to every customer.
    • Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and any other electronics.
    • Keep reports of transactions
    • Welcoming customers, answering their questions, helping them locate items, and providing advice or recommendations
    • Resolve all customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
    • Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments
    • Maintain clean and tidy workspace

    ICT Desktop Engineer

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for various IT duties, e.g., helpdesk administration, asset administration, installation, operation, and maintenance of computer systems and other technologies, such as communication systems. Configuring hardware and software, repairing equipment, and providing daily support for computer network users and any other general duties as required by the IT Operation Manager. To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical instructions. You should also be familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques. Ultimately, you will ensure prompt and accurate customer service and increase client satisfaction.

    We have to get serious for a bit. We need:

    • Grade 12 with a relevant diploma in the IT field
    • 3 years relevant experience
    • Proven work experience as a Desktop Engineer
    • Work experience and support of SYSPRO Point-of-Sale systems (POS)
    • Previous work experience in a Retail Environment
    • Valid Code 08 Driver’s license
    • Be willing to travel
    • Bilingual (Afrikaans/English)

    Key Performance Areas will include:

    Customer Service Request Support (1st Tier)

    • Analyse and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems.
    • Maintain desktop management documentation. (Job Card)
    • Maintain an average ticket update of a minimum of 5 to 7 updates per day over a period of 3 months.
    • Maintain the ICT service level agreement priority structure. (75% success ratio)
    • Project and maintain a professional image of BKB Information & Communication Technology during all client interactions - in line with BKB Core Values.
    • Strive to add exceptional value to all customer relationships when directly interacting with internal as well as external customers.

    Hardware & Printer Setup and Support

    • Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing desktop/laptop hardware and software.
    • Provide end-user training where required.
    • Responsible for supporting and troubleshooting hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and copiers.
    • Support and troubleshoot software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Maintain minimum agreed levels of interaction with the various BKB Divisions/ Subsidiaries and Clients.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities when dealing with key suppliers.
    • Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
    • Install and maintain CCTV Systems
    • Follow ICT Policies and Procedures at all times.

    Support the BKB ICT Team

    • Profile the BKB ICT team with various Divisions/Subsidiaries, external customers, and industry specialists.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
    • Maintain and support a positive working environment in the BKB ICT Team.
    • Provide innovative solutions to enhance working procedures/output, and the relevance of the BKB Information & Communication Technology Team

    Driver

    Job Description

    • BKB is currently seeking a Driver who will be responsible to deliver livestock and equipment in time and without any risk to the company.  As such, the Driver will be required to provide support with the loading and offloading of cattle and cattle pen equipment, as well as the building of pens at auctions and any other ad-hoc responsibilities.       

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10
    • Valid unendorsed Code 14 driver's license
    • Valid South African Identity Document
    • Valid PDP (Public Driver’s Permit)
    • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in the Livestock industry
    • Must be fully bilingual (English or Afrikaans and Zulu)
    • Physically fit – will be expected to complete medical induction
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the abilty to maintain good relationships with workers and clients
    • Able to navigate roads using navigation apps
    • Willing to work weekends and irregular hours
    • Willing to travel extensively and sleep out when required
    • Neat, punctual and professional in appearance

    KEY REPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

    • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of company vehicles by following Company procedures
    • Loading and offloading of livestock equipment at auctions and building of pens
    • Completion and submission of proper accounts and offloading tickets
    • Management of fuel consumption
    • Ad hoc duties
