    Planning and Material Requirements Co-Ordinator

    • The purpose of this role is to plan the production of Make to Order (Fresh and Just in Time) products, in conjunction with the production planner (where appropriate), create the factory works orders, and to ensure all communication is handled to ensure delivery of agreed stock. It is also to plan and coordinate P&I requirements to execute the production plan.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric is required.
    • SAPICS qualification (e.g. PPIM) is advantageous.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a planning, distribution or customer service orientated industry.
    • Computer literacy (SAP, Shopfloor system awareness, and MS Office skills prerequisite).
    • Specific supply chain experience is advantageous.

    Knowledge:

    • Production planning skills with strong knowledge of production processes.
    • SAP skills and/or knowledge of supply chain planning tool.
    • Strong spreadsheet skills.
    • Supply chain principles, practices and tools.
    • Planning and logistics execution processes.
    • Customer and product priorities.
    • MRP system.
    • Order lead times.
    • Supplier production processes.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Functional Strategy into Action Operationalisation:

    • Facilitate integrated supply chain delivery by managing relationships and interaction with cross functional teams.
    • Coordinate and drive the outbound supply chain planning projects when applicable.

    Just in Time Speciality Finished Goods Order Verification:

    • Daily, download the Woollies orders from the portal and update the works orders for the factory with today’s orders.
    • Extract the forward anticipated orders from the Woolworths portal in order to see anticipated forward demand and share forward plans with the plant.
    • Expedite those orders that do not fall within the required lead times but that must be executed.
    • Create/update works orders to enable the factory to produce against these customer orders.
    • Communicate with the call centre and the sales team, production and planning managers when demand cannot be met and advise on the plan to manage the gap.
    • Complete a daily reconciliation of expected orders to actual orders to ensure that all usual orders have been received (e.g. branch orders which are regular). Where there are gaps, contact the appropriate account manager for assistance.
    • Use SAP/Syspro to double check that all orders are covered (In SAP: ZZPDPRECON for Directs and ZPBCSSTOS for branches).
    • Monitor Packaging expectation report daily and resolve batches left behind on the report.
    • Monitor HITW recon report weekly, investigate reasons for failures and keep the report clear of errors.

    Transport Requirements Planning:

    • Work with the site despatch and transport team to ensure that provision is made for fresh stock orders using the weekly fresh forecast as a guide for the week in advance requirements plan.
    • On a daily basis, extract the customer orders (customer direct and branch replenishment orders) from SAP/Syspro or Woolworths portal to ensure that dispatch can allocate all orders to a vehicle on the loading schedule.
    • Based on the extracted orders, plan and book trucks and slots required.
    • Ensure that any promotions that may require the planning of additional trucks or space on trucks are sufficiently catered for and communicated.
    • Ensure daily that all orders for loading are allocated to trucks and have the necessary system documentation created (e.g.: shipments and deliveries).
    • Liaise with customers and delivery centres on any delivery delays or deviations.
    • Maintain transport trackers as required and report weekly on truck utilization and expected transport cost.

    Customer Service Monitoring for Finished Goods Stock:

    • Liaise closely with the call centre or customer (internal), as appropriate, to ensure that any deviations to the production plan are communicated accordingly (expected shortages, etc).
    • Complete a daily reconciliation of expected orders to actual orders to ensure that all usual orders have been received (e.g. branch orders which are regular).
    • During periods where public holidays impact on delivery schedules, ensure that the orders are received timeously and make the necessary arrangements for any change in delivery schedule.
    • Run customer service level reports daily to correct any service failures.
    • Monitor customer service levels by order to ensure that all orders are fully executed and report exceptions.
    • Maintain the Actual vs Forecast Monitor for fresh on a daily basis and issue the report.

    Materials Co-ordination of Packaging and Ingredients:

    • Work closely with suppliers and the stores supervisor to ensure that ingredients and packaging materials arrive on site before they are required for production.
    • Using SAP (COOSIPI)/Syspro, calculate the quantities required in order to meet the weeks’ production/demand plan and ensure stock arrives on site the week before it is required or as per safety stock levels.
    • Call off the materials from suppliers to meet the weekly production plan.
    • Manage the timing of the call-offs/delivery dates where space is critical to ensure delivery and maintain safety stock levels to avoid negatively impacting production.
    • Communicate and plan P&I requirements and delivery dates with suppliers.
    • Work with stores supervisor if orders need to be expedited or delayed.
    • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials between sites, according to production schedules or priorities and ensure the system transactions are completed.
    • Monitor anticipated schedule receipt dates in with stores supervisor and follow up with suppliers if deliveries are late.
    • Drive on-time, in-full compliance with suppliers.
    • Manage stock levels of materials in accordance with changes to plan.
    • Identify possible stock inaccuracies and work with the stores supervisor and or production for buffer stores, to correct any stock inaccuracy.
    • In conjunction with stores supervisor, ensure that obsolete and quality compromised stocks are written off promptly.
    • Communicate overstocks or shortages to the supply planning manager and make recommendations to resolve situations.
    • Raise any NCRs against suppliers as required for any deviations against POs.
    • Monitor COGIs on SAP weekly, assist with investigating root causes and drive corrective actions.

    Senior Product Developer (Centurion)

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking to employ a Senior Product Developer. The role will be based in Centurion and will report into the Product Development Manager.

    A Senior Product Developer will act as a coordinator of all new food product development activities from concept stage to launch as follows:

    • Identify possible new products. This involves brainstorming ideas, discussing the product’s requirements, and determining market and overall feasibility for a particular product concept.
    • Keep their ‘ears on the ground’ and speak with people, read magazines, read food blogs and watch food shows, all in an effort to understand which food products people enjoy, and where market gaps are.
    • Discover who’s going to buy the product and ways to make it unique. Use surveys and other research tools to focus the product concept and target goals, such as what market gap it will fill.
    • Define the key elements of the new food product, such as the format, size, taste, colour, texture and consistency.
    • Develop the new food product, including the recipe, sourcing of ingredients, shelf life, packaging & manufacturing processes. Developing a new food product involves assembling and presenting samples of the product to an external customer.
    • Construct and manage all own trial CPA’s.
    • Manage Kitchen Assistant work schedules and project allocations.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum 3-year Qualification in Culinary Arts / Qualified Chef.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PD within the Speciality team unless prior experience externally warrants seniority.
    • Minimum of 2 years culinary experience within an established food manufacturing group.
    • Experience in Chilled Cakes & Desserts (CCD) and project management. Must have Woolworths experience.
    • Numerical and verbal aptitude, strong communicator.
    • Intermediate computer skills (especially Excel and Word).
    • A valid driving license.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of food, ingredients and global cuisines.
    • An understanding of the science of food (food chemistry and nutrition).
    • Understand mass production techniques and machinery as well as the specific qualities and shelf-life of different ingredients as well as costings & technical issues.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Research & Market Analysis:

    • Identify market niches and opportunities into which existing products could be adapted and new products developed.
    • Continuously research food trend to stay ahead of consumer trends.
    • Evaluate the success of new products in their markets.
    • Do a Product Trend analysis presentation once a quarter.

    Development:

    • Formulation of new recipes and improvement of existing recipes and packaging.
    • Recommend new products and work with the NPD team to transform food concepts into viable products. This involves brainstorming ideas, discussing the product’s requirements, and determining market and overall feasibility for a particular product concept.
    • Conduct taste panels for proposed new products and document results.
    • Prepare reports and recommendations based on new food product trials.
    • Coordinate shelf-life studies with the NPD Process Technologist.
    • Ensure that potential new products can be manufactured profitability.

    Service Management:

    • Liaise with suppliers to ensure that RCL FOODS is aware of new ingredients coming on to the market.
    • Present new products to customers.

    KPI’s:

    • Achievement of SIA targets.
    • Rate of new product development.
    • Efficacy of the product transition from kitchen to factory and launch.

    Dispatch Supervisor

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is searching for a Dispatch Supervisor to join the Milling Division. The role will be based in Pretoria and will report into the Customer Service Excellence Manager.
    • The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for managing the despatch environment, including customer deliveries and the returns process to ensure customer service level targets are maximised with the stock that is available, and that the team’s productivity and performance are effectively managed at lowest cost.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Must have a National Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Fleet and/or Warehouse Management.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office).
    • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a similar environment.
    • Syspro system experienced required.
    • Must have experience in Inbound & Outbound and stock handling processes.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Outbound Control:

    • Control the functions of outbound, ensuring the correct products are despatched promptly out to the customer.
    • Ensure that all orders are leaving the warehouse correctly packed and damage free.
    • SD: 48Hrs lead time to Load Plan execution (Coordinate with Unitrans and execute load plan as per the priority list), ensure slots times are reviewed and adhered.
    • SCTs stock deployment request make – 48hrs (If no load plan available LC to request or escalate to relevant personal).
    • Ensure Age and batches are correctly loaded as FIFO policy.
    • Dispatch Inspections completed.
    • Ensure COAs are issued to drivers where necessary.
    • Ensure Stock is cleaned before loading.
    • Ensure no broken pallets and damages loaded in a truck.

    Inbound Control:

    • Control the inbound process by receiving product in good condition.
    • Capture stock on the system to ensure that goods are controlled and easily identified.
    • Ensure SCTs are received on the system as it happens.
    • Good FG returned ensure they scanned back to the system.
    • QC related stock scanned back to 2000 Immediately and Isolate.
    • No more than 2 batches loaded in a customer loads – unless agreed and approved.
    • SCTs are loaded with 1 batch – and fil up with the next available batch.

    Stock Control:

    • Ensure that the despatch area is ready for stock take and all stock correctly stored.
    • Manage and allocate resource for stock count weekends.
    • Ensure staff are available to re-count and only released once the Commercial team have agreed that the count is satisfactory. Ensure that all housekeeping and paperwork is correctly filed and always stored.
    • HITW scanning timeously. HITW end of the shift reporting.
    • Bin management – no mix Bins. Bin cards application.
    • No barcodes should be removed from the pallets.
    • Cycle counts conducted as WC instructions. Ensure production stores out loading.
    • Rework operation is managed and monitored.

    Partial Pallets:

    • Create new handling units for partial pallets to be combined.
    • Decide on usage and movement of partial pallets.
    • Train staff on rules of combining partial pallets.
    • Monitor and manage partial pallet area to reduce the space requirements.
    • Create SAP transactions to Write Off stock which are close to expiry and facilitate movement to Mixback area.

    Staging Area and Office Maintenance Management:

    • Manage and monitor the condition of the staging area and office ensuring that it is kept clean. Damaged goods are dealt with according to SOP. Areas in need of attention are reported to the relevant stakeholders.
    • All forklifts are in good working condition, batteries charged, and issues are reported to the Warehouse Controller.

    Compliance and Health and Safety:

    • Ensure that all truck and forklift drivers have valid driver’s license's and PDP’s.
    • Ensure appropriate PPE and uniforms are worn at all times.
    • Ensure all staff members comply with health and safety requirements.
    • Investigate and report on all injuries on duty (IOD’s).
    • Implement safe working procedures.

    Security Control:

    • Ensure that all stocks leaving the warehouse premises do so with proper documentation.
    • Instruct security to check staff when they leave or enter the premises.
    • Ensure that all trucks leaving the warehouse are documented.
    • WB are operational – and escalated if there are issues.

    Team Supervision:

    • Fully responsible for the supervision and management of both permanent and casual staff within the despatch area including pallets.
    • Responsible for ensuring that there is always sufficient staff on site during the required loading hours.

    Shift Handover:

    • Load plan update.
    • Outstanding loads.

    Process Contoller - Project Everest

    Job Description    

    • To monitor Food Safety (HACCP & GMPs) and manage quality standards in production process through identification and correction of non-compliances . Making operational decisions together with relevant supervisory level that fall within the field of responsibility. Influence operations on compliance with quality and safety standards. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric with Maths and Science
    • Diploma in Food Science or Technology/ /Microbiology/Biotechnology
    • In-depth knowledge of Quality control in food manufacturing, Food Technology, HACCP and GMP knowledge
    • Team player with the necessary skills, capabilities and resources required to assist with execution of decisions made
    • Internal Auditing skills 

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Conduct online quality inspections and ensure completion of all relevant check sheets
    • Conduct glass and bristle plastic checks to prevent foreign matter contamination
    • Conduct shelf-life and traceability checks on all intermediate and raw materials
    • Verify all Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs)
    • Management of rejected products, including safe isolation, disposal, and proper documentation
    • Inspect employee lockers and toolboxes to uphold hygiene and safety standards
    • Monitor employee adherence to GMPs
    • Monitor equipment calibration and conduct equipment verification (i.e., scales, x-rays, metal detectors, thermometer)
    • Investigation of customer complaints and facilitation of mock recall exercises to test traceability and responsiveness
    • Provide oversight of pest control programs to maintain hygiene and safety standards
    • Conduct on-the-job training to all employees to support skill development and regulatory compliance
    • Conduct operations, CCP, & OPRP audits in line with the internal audit schedule
    • Inspection of finished good pallets during dispatching
    • Sampling, baking, and evaluation of online and frozen finished product
    • Conduct washouts and pie warmer evaluation
