    Workplace Experience Student: Legal

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    • Within your functional work stream you will deliver timeous and accurate administrative and specialised support to the Company Secretariat and Governance team, with additional support to other lawyers within the Legal Function, as required. You will be expected to drive processes and systems with diligence and efficiency to ensure compliance with the regulatory, legislative and good corporate governance requirements and practices. The candidate must be able to get up to speed quickly and be prepared to be flexible and adaptable in responding to the changing needs of the business and the Company Secretariat and Governance Department, and overall Legal Function, to the extent necessary

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
    Key Attributes and Competencies

    • Provide support for meetings, including preparations of agendas, distribution of meeting packs and compiling the minutes
    • Assist in processes relating to appointments of directors and trustees, liaising with the relevant regulatory bodies
    • Engage with relevant Company Secretariat internal and external stakeholders
    • Deal with ethics related matters, primarily the declaration of interest processes and systems overall
    • Conduct research on legislative, regulatory and governance good practice standards for the Company Secretariat and other Lawyers within the Legal Function
    • Tracking the legislative and regulatory development alerts from relevant online platforms
    • Ensure the company’s website is updated with accurate information pertaining to corporate governance
    • Upgrade the Legal Function intranet to serve as a resourceful repository of information for the business
    • Provide support on year-end activities relating to the governance portfolio
    • Assist with drafting of resolutions for subsidiary entities and related trusts
    • Ensure timeous submission/filing of annual returns and relevant documentation to CIPC and perform ancillary tasks
    • Analyse the Legal Function policies to ensure appropriate controls are in place for compliance purposes
    • Attend to FICA requests and ad hoc correspondences received from the business
    • Manage the master diary for the company’s corporate law and JSE listings requirements compliance obligations

    Qualifications

    Legal Assistant

    Job Description

    • The role of a Legal Assistant/Paralegal is to manage the Legal Function Office and provide administrative and technical support to processes and systems within the Legal Function to enhance office effectiveness and efficiency.  The objective of the role is to alleviate the burden and maximise the efficiency of the Group Company Secretary and General Counsels so they can contribute more meaningfully to the strategic and tactical deliverables that they face on a daily basis.

    Responsibilities

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
    Key Attributes and Competencies

    • LCF meeting administration 
    • Assist with drafting and typing of minutes/ghost minutes for LCF meetings ▪ Manage the LCF members calendar and facilitate related processes
    • Manage Functional budget, including processing of invoices and reporting on all costs against budget & expenses
    • Assist with ad-hoc strategic or operational projects in the Function or Group, if required
    • Provide support to contract management processes and system (Updraft) 
    • Be the super user for Docusign or e-signature platforms and perform all administrative tasks associated with loading of contracts and reporting from the system
    • Drafting/generating non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and service level agreements (SLAs), promotional terms and conditions and any other work delegated by the legal professionals and ensure finalisation and filing thereof
    • Maintain a well-structured and efficient electronic and paper-based filing system for relevant governance structures, ensuring that information is secured, and confidentiality is maintained
    • Facilitate and coordinate internal and external meetings for LCF team members
    • Assist lawyers with process and system related activities 
    • Maintain a register of all subscriptions and alert CLO/Lawyers of any impending expiry and renewal 
    • Assist Legal Function with any facilities related matters, including maintenance, security requirements etc.
    • Control and manage stationery, catering requirements and make travel arrangements for directors. 

    Qualifications
    ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • NQF Level 4, preferably with legal secretarial certification/Paralegal Diploma
    • Advanced level proficiency in MS Office Suite, Excel
    • Excellent grammatical and editing capability
    • Accuracy and quality of legal and administrative tasks
    • Pro-activity of services provided to Lawyers
    • Continuous improvement identification and implementation
    • Areas agreed as part of the annual IPA processes

    Job Description
    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    • You will be responsible for maintaining Engineering Equipment to world class standards while providing support to the Maintenance Coordinator. You will support the team in embedding maintenance processes within the organization with the key deliverables of maintaining the Integrity of the Plant. You will maintain, repair, and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost.

    Responsibilities
    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Operational Support – Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations. Where requested assist as a functional expert in problem solving.
    • Running Repairs – Partake in carrying out repairs on plant equipment.
    • Problem Solving – Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve problems.
    • Planned Maintenance – Take part in maintenance planning meetings, contributing suggestions, and clarifying work required.
    • Housekeeping & Safety – Operate in a safe manner at all times, identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
    • Always ensure Plant availability of >95%.
    • Ensure all compliance standards are met. 

    Qualifications

    Key Professional Competencies

    • Core knowledge – Maintenance Systems, Engineering standards, Qualified Fitter, Knowledge of High-Speed Packaging Machinery

    Key foundational competencies

    • Academic – Trade Test, Minimum requirement is NTC3, with matric maths and science, Analytical skills, Problem solving, high numeracy skills
    • Leadership – Owning it! Driving long-term results, Staying a step-ahead

    Experience

    • Function – +- 5 years' experience
