    Intake Manager

    • To effectively manage grain receipts and stock so as to ensure an optimal level of operation and to avoid any compromise to quality or cost.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    Asset Management:

    • >95% score achieved for Grain receipt and stock management audits 
    • Achieve production efficiencies; 
    • Ensure plant & equipment availability & reliability; 
    • Improve production efficiencies; 
    • Cost containment; 
    • Successfully identify & resolve technical & manufacturing issues and problems; 
    • Plants are run at design capacities; 
    • Motivate and successfully implement CAPEX and Major Repairs & Maintenance projects within budget. 
    • Asset replacement as per “Five Year Facilities Plan”

    Inventory Management:

    • Raw material received within allowable tolerances (<0.05% mass deviation on intake of grain); 
    • Screenings stock variance in accordance with set targets (<1%); 
    • <0.25% stock variance on the silo mass reconciliation; 
    • >95% score achieved for Grain receipt and stock management audits; 
    • Zero external audit findings; 
    • 95% achievement of wheat order and off- loading efficiency (no demurrage charges incurred); 
    • Raw materials correctly graded, and stored separately according to origin and grade. 

    Financial Management:

    • Cost management; 
    • Working Capital is effectively managed; 
    • Zero based budgeting; 
    • Continuous Improvement; 
    • Target zero write offs 

    Quality Assurance and Food Safety/ Risk/ Environmental:

    • Achieve > 95% in the quarterly South African Grain Laboratories grain grading ring test; 
    • Retain ISO / FSSC certification; 
    • Zero major audit findings identified; 
    • Zero legal compliance findings identified; 
    • Statistical Process Control 

    Staff leadership and Teamwork:

    • Achievement of 20 keys as per set targets; 
    • Minimal number of grievances / disciplinary enquiries; 
    • Low staff turnover and absenteeism rate; 
    • Team goals and core values communicated and owned by team members; 
    • > 90% achievement of staff training matrix 

    Functional / Operational:

    • Labour and equipment co-ordination in line with procurement requirements; 
    • >90% score achieved for Grain receipt and stock management audits; 
    • Zero major audit findings
    • Maximum of 3% deviation on wheat grist transfers; 
    • Number of grist changes; 
    • Statistical Process Control. 

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

    • Matric Higher Grade – Mathematics and General Science;

    • Registered Pest Control Officer;

    Millwright

    Job Purpose

    • The Millwright will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment in the flour milling plant to ensure maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on milling equipment (e.g., roller mills, sifters, blowers, conveyors, pneumatic systems, compressors, and packaging machines).
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize production interruptions.
    • Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is operating at required efficiency and safety standards.
    • Carry out machine alignments, installations, and overhauls as required.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards according to company procedures.
    • Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth running of operations.
    • Comply with plant safety, food safety, and housekeeping standards at all times.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical input for equipment upgrades.
    • Ensure spare parts are requested, used efficiently, and maintained in good condition.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Recognized Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal preferred).
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Millwright in a milling, FMCG, or manufacturing environment (flour milling experience advantageous).
    • Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance skills.
    • Knowledge of food safety and GMP standards will be an added advantage.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
    • Computer literacy (maintenance systems and MS Office).

    Key Competencies

    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • You are responsible for developing and executing the sourcing strategy for your respective commodities and ensuring delivery of the best procurement value and mitigation of supply risks. You will establish a distinctive competency and understanding of the commodities and Tiger Brands’ business needs and continuously identify new procurement value opportunities in line with the Commodity Strategies. You will deliver cost savings projects focused on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization whilst ensuring a healthy relationship with suppliers and business. You will also lead a team of sourcing specialists to support you in the execution of the strategy.

    • Developing and executing the sourcing strategy of the respective commodity
    • In depth technical reports, proposals or project briefs affecting one or more business units

    Driver and Salesman (Code 14)

    • Conduct inter-bakery deliveries of bread on time, in full, and according to agreed schedules.

    • Notify Bakery if run out of bread on route

    Account for stock and money

    • Do stock check before departure from bakery and sign off
    • Ensure cash is stored in the safe at all times as per SOP
    • Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) as required
    • Report any deviations and suspicious activity immediately

    Positive basket flow

    • Keep account of basket flow per route
