The successful candidate will conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.
Ensure accurate, timely results that meet set specifications.
Assist with troubleshooting in production, investigating consumer complaints, support sensory analysis and providing feedback.
Maintain Quality Management Systems and keep documentation up to date.
Handle lab administration, data capturing, report compilation, sample dispatch to third-party labs, and manage stock and budgets.
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will have a Matric certificate accompanied by a diploma/degree in Food Science or relevant similar science qualification and relevant science background and training.
Preferred candidates must have 1-2 years of Microbiological Laboratory working experience in FMCG environment, should be able to produce accurate and neat work, have good organizational and communication skills and be reliable.
The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of internal controls applicable to various business processes, especially the manufacturing and warehousing areas. The primary responsibility will be to perform follow-up testing on issues reported by external and internal audit to ensure the necessary corrective action was taken. This person will be required to: document their understanding of certain business processes and related document flows and controls in place for testing; compile a test plan; attend inventory counts and cycle counts on an ad hoc basis; follow up on discrepancies identified and prepare a report covering the area tested, errors found, recommended and agreed course of action, management commentary and the status and outcome of follow up testing performed.
Knowledge and Skills:
The preferred candidate will have a matric qualification and a B.Com/B.Tech with Internal auditing/Auditing as a major subject. The successful candidate must have thorough knowledge of internal controls, be able to communicate effectively - both in writing and verbally, computer literate in MS Excel and MS Word, have the ability to multitask, able to work in a focused systematic manner as part of a team and independently.
