Job Advert Summary    

Assists the Operators in the Despatch plant during shift in a cost-effective and safe manner by condition monitoring their assigned field plant units. Timeously reports identified field problems to the Shift Supervisor and executing work instructions given by the Shift supervisor. Inspects the operational area and ensures good housekeeping and safe running of plant units and the safety of other people working in their area.  Operates the mobile equipment/machinery in operation for the Despatch plant.

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12
• Code 8 Drivers Licence

Proactively advise business management of potential improvements in the systems and business processes with a view to improving efficiency and good governance.  Be responsible for the maintenance and user support for relevant value stream problems in the ERP system, and related peripheral systems. Assist and manage the specification and testing of relevant reports and customizations. Provide guidance and support to the Helpdesk. Provide advice and support to relevant business users

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12 (Matric with Maths and Science)
• Technically orientated
• A+ N+/MCSE 2008 – 2012 / ITIL Foundation V3
• Studying towards or qualified in Virtualization Microsoft and/or VMWare
• 3 – 4 Years work related exposure

Duties and Responsibilities    

• This position involves support and maintenance in all aspects of the LAN network, Desktop, Server & Peripheral infrastructure, user support and related activities. A STRONG FOCUS on providing a consistent and above average delivery of services for all our customers is essential.
• The duties could involve travelling and assisting other PPC sites
• To maintain and manage all IT systems and related services running efficiently at their optimum capacity, cost effectively and conforming to the PPC standards.
• To ensure that IT systems and related technologies deployed support business requirements.
• To be responsible for the technical support staff including mentoring and guiding, as necessary.
• To liaise and inter-act with external vendors.
• To develop and preserve good governance in all aspects.
• To ensure that infrastructure design, procurement, deployment and management is in accordance with PPC guidelines and standards.
• To create monthly reports reflecting operational standards.
