    Surveyor

    About The Role

    We are looking for a Surveyor to provide an efficient surveying service to RBM clients by updating service plans, indicating infrastructure status, condition and capacity including surveying mapping and mine plans.

    Reporting to the Superintendent Surveying, you will

    • Conduct monthly surveys of dune rehabilitation and mining face bush clearing, document and map accordingly for reporting processes.
    • Conduct month-end surveys of all changes in operational infrastructure, and submit to CAD Specialist to update service plans.
    • Conduct monthly surveys Support Planning Officers with surveying requirements for crane pad constructions and road designs.
    • Operate survey software with appropriate checks.
    • Assist in planning, forecasting and establishment of contingency plans to ensure maximum plant availability and assist in developing monthly seepage control measures and action plans to manage landward flatlands and coastal seepage issues on the mine.
    • Survey all boreholes and mine stock piles as per requirements.
    • Ensure Mine Development annual costs are controlled and adhered to.
    • Carry out monthly surveys of all HMC and tails pumping profiles as required by the Mine Planning department.
    • Carry out quarterly reconciliation surveys and reports in conjunction with Mine Infrastructure Services of all operational boosters, pipes and electrical equipment in service on the Mine.

    About You

    To be successfully considered for this role, you will have

    • National Diploma in Surveying /Elementary Survey and Evaluation
    • Advanced Surveying is an advantage
    • EB License
    • 2 years Industrial Surveying experience.
    • Computer literacy MS Office; Civil Designer program; Allycat; MineScape; SAP
    • Knowledge of GPS Systems
    • Interpersonal skills.
    • Planning, organizing and problem solving skills

    Mining Engineer

    About The Role

    We are looking for a Mining Engineer to analyse geological data for the compilation of mine plans by critically examining technical and economic factors. To apply mining engineering methods to solve complex problems. To design and schedule mine production in the short term. To communicate and cause the mine plans to be executed by the production teams by ensuring that the required information and coordinates are made available to the survey team and production systems.
    Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will

    • Engineer tasks - Applies pre-defined tasks and procedures to ensure maximum productivity
    • May participate in exploration activities.
    • Perform tasks delegated by others during engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, capital and operating costs, and manpower and production requirements.
    • Geotechnical risk management - Conduct Geotechnical inspections according to defined procedures
    • Apply the requirement as stipulated in the SDTMP according to the D3 and D5 Standards
    • Ensure a stable mine design by performing regular inspections based on checklists and standards
    • Assist with stability analysis as per procedure and provide daily technical support to the operation
    • Operational support for the Mine - Produce under guidance short term plan for bush clearing, mining, backfilling and infrastructure based on pre-defined long term plan.
    • Monitor production performance and compliance with plan to assist in ensuring operational discipline
    • Perform regular spatial reconciliation (weekly and monthly)
    • Operational support for the MSP
    • Produce the weekly tactical plan under guidance.
    • Honour the strategic plan when developing short term mine plans

     About you 

    To succeed in this role, you will have

    • Preferred - B. Sc or B. Eng Mining Engineering or B.Tech Mining Engineering or B. Sc with appropriate specialization in a related field or 3 years relevant experience and exposure in a related field or industry.
    • EB License, Qualify for registration with a body recognized by JORC would be highly beneficial.
    • 2 years appropriate industrial experience, in mine design and surface mining methods. Exposure to wet processing plant environment
    • Advanced computer literacy (Mining software, MS Office, SAP)
    • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills.
    • Well-developed project management skills.
