    Electrician

    Technical Development Manager - LYRA Energy

    Why this role matters

    • As the Technical Development Manager this role provides the senior technical engine behind the composition and optimisation of Lyra Energy’s generation portfolio.

    Digital Portfolio Manager

    Senior Manager - Document & Information Management

    • Lead the SME team in feasibility, assessment and implementation of DMS or ECM systems

    Community Liaison Officer: 12 Month Contract

    Main purpose of position: 

    • Currently we are looking for a Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to be based near Kathu, Northern Cape. As the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) you will be responsible to maintain stakeholder relations between Scatec and the community and implement social management processes to mitigate project-related impacts.
    • Facilitate and administer the implementation of economic development projects, building and fostering an environment that supports continuous community engagement and healthy stakeholder relations.

    Main Responsibilities: 

    • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain  effective relationships between the local communities and Scatec
    • Build and foster an environment that supports continuous community engagement
    • Liaise with local community stakeholders on behalf of Scatec
    • Engage, facilitate and represent Scatec in the event of public meetings

    • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Support Project E&S team in the implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)

    • Institutional arrangements: Liaise with the project management & local government offices in terms of employment and other opportunities for the communities
    • Participate in relevant forums as a Scatec repressentative, such as Local Economic Development (LED) and Integrated Development Programme (IDP) forums, Youth and Local business forums, IPP community engagements etc. 
    • Social management and community development: Deliver monthly reports on activities.
    • Review and identify potential partners for community development initiatives
    • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the Socio-Economic Development (SED) and Enterprise Development (ED) projects in the communities
    • Communication and Reporting: Develop and distribute regular communications to stakeholders, including newsletters, reports, and updates

    Qualifications And Competencies: 

    • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree/equivalent or higher) in community development, the human or social sciences, or related fields
    • General knowledge of local and provincial government practices, local policies, regulations, and community dynamics
    • Well-developed knowledge of local community cultures, leaders, customs and practices through prior involvement in the community
    • Language: Fluent in both written and spoken English & Afrikaans

    Material Controller (12 Month Contract)

    Main purpose of position

    • Currently we are looking for a Material Controller in Kathu, Northern Cape to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. 
    • As our Material controller you are responsible for material management at Site. The Material Controller will collect all the documents and certification covering the arrival of materials at site and provide for recording of their movements including periodic reporting.

    Main responsibilities 

    • To arrange storage and laydown area according to the instructions of the Site Manager
    • To manage information relevant to arrival of materials at site and their availability at the laydown area
    • To coordinate the provision of shipping documentation and feed the D365 database (where applicable) with proper information
    • To manage the receiving, check, storage, and preservation of materials delivered at Site and feeds the key360 data base with proper information
    • Initiate procedures concerning insurance claims for damage to materials during transport to Site or during erection
    • To coordinate issuance of NCR by the Quality Manager for claims against vendors for /or non-conformity with the relevant purchase order
    • To initiate claims against vendors for material inconsistences
    • To facilitate claims against the Logistics Forwarder material damages and losses due to transportation / warehousing
    • Ensure that a dedicated quarantine area for damaged/non-conforming material/equipment is available, and clearly marked & managed from the beginning of receiving material while maintaining full traceability throughout the project, with supporting documents
    • To manage the receiving, check, recording and traceability of material certificate and feeds the  D365 database (where applicable) with proper information

    Qualifications and competencies

    • Currently we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.
    • As our Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the Senior Engineering team members by managing or leading assigned tasks and design activities to ensure the delivery of technically compliant projects. Additionally, you will assist in ensuring all technical and contractual requirements are considered and implemented, facilitating the successful completion of projects.
    • Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and operational aspects of projects by managing or leading technical assessments, investigations, due diligence studies, and design activities in support of the senior engineering team.

    Main responsibilities 

    Support to Structuring Phase of projects

    • Support in the development and establishment the technical base case and specifications of the project
    • Review and evaluate technical documentation and contracts (PPA, Grid Code, Connection Agreement, etc.)
    • Support Supply Chain Management on compilation and evaluation of RFP documents and supplier responses
    • Support in tasks assigned to manage, coordinate and compile the complete system design package
    • Support in management, coordination and review the detailed engineering design package/process
    • Ensure that all relevant design information identified throughout the structuring phase is implemented in the detailed designs issued for construction

    Support to Projects in Delivery/Execution

    • Ensure detailed engineering is implemented from the design stage
    • Review design change request or proposals in the event of deviations
    • Conduct site visits to monitor and ensure design expectations are implemented
    • Support and drive testing and commissioning activities towards Commercial Operation Date Support in project close

    Qualifications and Competencies 

    • Degree in Electrical / Electronical Engineering
    • Degree in Electromechanical Engineering organisation
    • 5+ years electrical / electromechanical engineering experience
    • 1+ years renewable energy experience
    • 1+ years project environment experience
    • 1+ years distribution and reticulation design experience
    • Experience in PVSyst modelling
    • Experience in AutoCAD
    • Experience in Weather data sets (MN7, SolarGIS)
    • Exposure to High Voltage Networks and Sub-Stations
    • Experience in Utility Scale PV Project design and execution
