    Collaboration Support Administrator x2 (18 Months)

    Job Description

    • Brief description
    • The purpose of this position is to provide audiovisual (AV), videoconferencing (VC) and digital signage (DS)/IPTV Support services as well as technical user assistance within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group.

    Detailed description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
    • Define own work plan and deliverables with guidance from the Senior Team Lead: Messaging and Collaboration and prioritise delivery of own outputs against the agreed work plan.
    • Provide first line support services on all AV, VC and DS/IPTV equipment installed in the SARB’s Conference Centres, auditoriums and board/meeting rooms.
    • Set up and install all relevant AV, VC and DS equipment such as microphones, sound equipment, video screens and projectors for various events and functions such as meetings, conventions, presentations and conferences.
    • Deliver direct technical support during live events to ensure seamless operation of AV and VC systems.
    • Execute management requests to address or mitigate risks in the in the AV, VC and DS environment as identified by the internal or external auditors and other governance-related assessments.

    Qualifications

    Job requirements

    • To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
    • A minimum qualification at NQF level 5.
    • a minimum of two to five years’ experience in configuring and supporting end-to-end AV/VC/DS infrastructure in a corporate environment including the support of high-profile events.
    • The following would be an added advantage:
    • Microsoft 365 certified: Teams Administrator Associate
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Live Event Production experience

    Additional requirements include:

    • basic networking skills and an understanding of Cisco network technologies as well as basic operating systems and desktop support capabilities;
    • experience in managing and supporting an AV environment (Crestron; Microsoft Teams Room);
    • experience in managing and supporting a Digital Signage/IPTV environment (VITEC; Avedia; ArtioSign).

    Associate Economic Statistician -ESD

     Job Description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
    • Develop and maintain data products using data science tools and techniques that would enhance the department’s ability to conduct statistical and economic analysis. 
    • Apply data science tools and techniques to enhance existing economic indicators and to develop new indicators.
    • Enhance and maintain the production time series database.
    • Assist in the analysis of data and statistics by developing business intelligence tools (e.g. web applications and dashboards) to identify trends and to build dynamic, reproducible reports and presentations.
    • Compile and disseminate monthly ‘Economic Flash Reports’ with in-depth analysis of short-term economic indicators. 
    • Provide end-user training to staff in the unit and the department on data products in production, and present on specialised topics in the data science sphere.
    • Conduct methodological research, with an emphasis on data science applications within a central bank environment.
    • Contribute to the compilation of analytical and methodological notes.

    Qualifications

    • To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
    • an Honours degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics and/or a related field; and
    • two to five years’ experience in economic analysis, with proven project-based data science experience.

    Cloud Architect - BSTD

    Brief description

    • The main purpose of this position is to research, plan, architect, design and deploy infrastructure cloud solutions within the South African Reserve Bank Group (SARB Group).

    Detailed description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
    • Research and recommend emerging and fit-for-purpose infrastructure (servers, mainframe, storage, etc.) solutions and participate in the procurement of such solutions aligned to the business strategy.
    • Define and evolve the SARB Group's cloud architecture in alignment with the to-be architecture.
    • Plan and develop cloud architecture blueprints and roadmaps for cloud solutions in alignment with industry best practices and standards.
    • Oversee the implementation of cloud infrastructure designs and ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards.
    • Provide expert guidance on cloud adoption and cloud cost management strategies.
    • Oversee the management of the cloud technology life cycle.
    • Lead the design of cloud native solutions.
    • Implement and maintain the governance and security model for the cloud as developed by the Cyber and Information Security Unit.
    • Develop, maintain and document technical standards, procedures, user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), instructional documents and so forth relating to the cloud infrastructure solutions.
    • Collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the functionality of the deployed cloud infrastructure solutions and technologies.
    • Identify, address and remediate risks in the cloud environment as identified by auditors and governance-related assessments.
    • Stay abreast of new developments in cloud architectures and technologies.
    • Provide cloud architectural expertise as part of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure projects and participate in other SARB Group projects to contribute towards business objectives.
    • Take responsibility for infrastructure capacity planning, disaster recovery and resource allocation to ensure optimal performance, continuity and scalability.

    Qualifications

    Job requirements

    • To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
    • a minimum of a Honours degree (NQF 8) in IT, computer science or an equivalent qualification;
    • TOGAF certification;
    • ITIL v3/4 and COBIT 2019 will be an added advantage;
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect;
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect;
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) will be an added advantage;

    Server Specialist - Virtualisation - BSTD

    Brief description

    • The main purpose of this position is to plan, design, implement, configure and provide defined levels (lines) of support for all virtualisation infrastructures, ensuring sufficient capacity and performance to meet business demand and ensure availability as per approved service standards.

    Detailed description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
    • Define own work plan and deliverables with guidance from the Team Lead: Servers and Storage and prioritise delivery of own outputs against the agreed work plan.
    • Design, test and implement scalable, redundant, virtualisation infrastructure solutions and related technologies according to documented business requirements and industry best practises.
    • Provide first line support on deployed server virtualisation infrastructure.
    • Provide escalation (third line) support on deployed server virtualisation infrastructure. 
    • Provide technical virtualisation expertise as part of information and communications technology infrastructure projects and participate in other departmental/divisional projects in order to contribute towards business objectives.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for integration, consolidation and enhancements to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of virtualisation resources and technology.
    • Research, design and evaluate alternative virtualisation architectures and related technologies in relation to the business needs of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) (proof of concept and technical assessments) and aligned with the Business Solutions and Technology Department’s strategy, vision and roadmap.
    • Create and maintain technical virtualisation topology diagrams (SARB Group footprint) and provide structured documentation and procedures to the Production Support Section on solution handover where relevant.

    Manager - Visual Communications - ExMan

    Brief description

    • The main purpose of this position is to lead the visual communications team in producing creative and innovative visual communication materials, including motion graphics and designs for key events and publications, ensuring they are visually appealing and aligned with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) brand and corporate identity.

    Detailed description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
    • Develop, maintain and implement creative design processes, systems and standards to meet all visual communication requirements.
    • Lead the Visual Communications team by allocating projects and coaching graphic designers, ensuring all work aligns with the SARB brand and corporate identity.
    • Oversee the creative direction of the team, guiding concept development and the design of client proposals, motion graphics, presentations, the layout of publications as well as other design material.
    • Act as the custodian of the SARB brand and corporate identity, ensuring alignment of all creative concepts with the brand guidelines.
    • Develop creative design concepts that can be applied across multiple platforms, including publications, events, marketing collateral and merchandising. 
    • Plan work, supervise quality and facilitate the timely delivery of visual communications outputs by clarifying roles and managing responsibilities to optimise and coordinate team resources.
    • Manage, categorise and update the SARB’s photo libraries and creative assets to build a comprehensive archive for both digital and physical channels.
    • Lead stakeholder engagements and client liaison in providing expert advice on all visual communications solutions, ensuring the Visual Communications Unit is recognised as a trusted authority on all design-related matters.
    • Take responsibility for the provision of periodic reports to the Head of Communications.
    • Stay current with the latest developments in visual communications and drive improvements within the team.
    • Manage external suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality visual communications elements.
    • Remain up to date with software upgrades and emerging design practices, domestically and globally, and implement enhancements where appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, or an equivalent qualification; 
    • an adequate knowledge of design and multimedia software; and
    • at least six to eight years’ experience in graphic design and/or animation.
