    Senior Civil Engineer/Technologist | Bulk Water Conveyance - (ENG-L6.135)

    About the role: 

    • We are looking for a Professionally Registered Civil Engineer or Technologist with experience in civil engineering projects with an emphasis on bulk water conveyance (bulk water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure) to join our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane.  

    Role Responsibilities 

    • Project Management of bulk water conveyance related projects. 
    • Perform complex engineering designs, calculations, and analysis of bulk water pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure across the full lifecycle of the project, i.e., planning, design and implementation which includes construction and completion. 
    • Conduct hydraulic modeling and simulations using industry accepted tools such EPANET, InfoWater, or WaterGEMS. 
    • Co-ordinate and integrate the design with other engineering disciplines (i.e., structural, fire, mechanical and electrical), development of 3D models, technical drawings and details, technical specifications and associated quantities.
    • Produce other key deliverables on projects such as technical and project related reports, specifications and procurement documentation. 
    • Administration of construction contracts as Contracts Engineer\Employer’s Agent Representative \ Principal Agent including associated site supervision and administrative responsibilities, and dealing with construction queries.
    • Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and across multiple geographies in Africa and internationally. 
    • Ensure that all work complies with Zutari’s quality control procedures and ensuring that required quality standards are maintained. 

    Minimum Requirements  

    • BEng/BSc/BTech or equivalent in Civil Engineering.  
    • A post-graduate qualification will be advantageous. 
    • Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA or evidence of submission (proof of submission required).  
    • A minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience on civil engineering projects, with an emphasis on bulk conveyance.
    • Experience should entail working on projects across their full lifecycle, i.e., planning through to the end of construction. 
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite products. Knowledge in MS Projects will be advantageous. 
    • Project Management and construction related experience in civil engineering projects. 
    • Construction related experience in bulk conveyance projects will be an advantage. 
    • Sound knowledge and expertise in GCC and FIDIC general conditions of contract. Knowledge of other construction contracts in the field of engineering will be advantageous. 
    • Sound knowledge or expertise in 3D engineering design software applicable to the envisaged role (especially Autodesk suite) will be an advantage.

    Industrial Engineer / Business Improvement Consultant - (AD-L6.4)

    Role responsibilities

    In this role, you will be involved in projects that improve effectiveness of business processes, systems and people. You will specifically be involved in:

    • Evaluating and re-engineering business processes
    • Defining user requirements, configuration, testing and implementation of workflows in our ERP and other corporate systems
    • Any other business improvement related tasks including problem statements, research, feasibility studies, analysis of data, development and implementation of solutions, simulation and modeling e.g. cost models

    Change Manager - (AD-L6.5)

    Role responsibilities

    • The Change Manager is responsible to lead the change management strategy and execution for digital transformation and other business improvement initiatives across Zutari.

    Specifically, the Change Manager is responsible for:

    • Developing and executing change management strategies aligned with digital transformation goals, including enterprise system implementations, automation, and process redesign
    • Conducting impact assessments to understand how changes affect roles, processes, and structures
    • Building and implementing communication and engagement plans to foster stakeholder alignment and support

    • The Graphic Designer plays a critical role within Zutari’s Winning Work team, responsible for crafting visually compelling and strategically aligned proposal documents and visual assets that communicates our value to clients.
    • This role requires a concept-driven designer with a strong grasp of visual storytelling, capable of transforming complex technical content into clear, engaging, and persuasive visuals.

    Proposal Design

    • Design the layout and visual elements of large, complex engineering and consulting proposals, ensuring alignment with Zutari’ s brand and client expectations.

    Information Design and Visual Storytelling

    Project Manager | Dams & Hydropower - (PM-L6.6)

    About the role: 

    • Zutari is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the project management of dams and hydropower projects in our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane. 
    • The successful incumbent will work closely with Dam and Hydropower Engineers in developing and enforcing a high standard of project management across a portfolio of projects whilst managing select projects themselves. 

    Role Responsibilities: 

    • Manage the full project lifecycle for engineering consultancy assignments, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out. 
    • Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of project milestones. 
    • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans in collaboration with technical leads. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations. 
    • Monitor project performance using KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed. 
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and Zutari quality standards.

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electromechanical, etc.), Project Management or a related field. 
    • Project Management professional registration would be preferable.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering project management, preferably within a consultancy environment servicing both private and public clients. 
    • Proven track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget. 
    • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2). 
    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar). 
    • Contractual experience related to construction projects (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, etc) preferable.

    Hydropower Engineer - (ENG-L5.139)

    About the role: 

    • Zutari is seeking an intermediate level Hydropower Engineer who will be responsible for the design and project management of hydropower projects in our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane. 
    • The successful incumbent will work closely with Senior Engineers, Junior Engineers, Technologists, and Technicians in developing innovative solutions and delivering high quality outputs for our clients. 

    Role Responsibilities: 

    • Develop and undertake detailed designs for run-of-the-river, conventional and pumped storage hydropower schemes. 
    • Support the growth of our Dams & Hydropower business through client relationships and preparation of proposals. 
    • Hydraulic design of closed conduit and free surface conveyance systems. 
    • Detailed design of mechanical infrastructure (including equipment selection) if the candidate holds a degree in mechanical engineering. 
    • Project management of small projects and acting as work package/task lead on small to medium sized projects. 
    • Training and mentoring of Junior Engineers. 
    • Coordinate and manage the development of 3D digital models and associated 2D drawings for civil or mechanical infrastructure. 
    • Collaborating with other business units within Zutari such as the renewable energy and electrical teams. 
    • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Electrical, Structural and Process. 
    • Work closely with Technicians, Technologists and Engineers. 
    • Attend site visits for familiarisation and high-level surveying or observation of brownfields infrastructure or greenfield projects. 
    • Interpret engineering design sketches and drawings. 
    • Interpret as-built drawings of brownfields infrastructure. 
    • Managing and reviewing the quality of deliverables with a specific focus on the compilation of professional reports. 

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Minimum qualifications: BEng/BSc degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering. 
    • Registered ECSA Professional Engineer or close to ready for ECSA application.  
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience.  
    • Software experience: MS Suite, Revit, and AutoCAD 
    • A willingness to learn and continue building an established Dams & Hydropower team. 
    • A strong interest in working on innovative and complex projects. 

    Preference will be given to applicants who: 

    • Possess post graduate qualification in Civil or Mechanical engineering. 
    • Possess experience in digital modelling. 
    • Software experience: Autodesk Inventor, ProjectWise, BIM360, HECRAS and CFD Modelling.
