Zutari is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the project management of dams and hydropower projects in our industry-leading Water team in Tshwane.
The successful incumbent will work closely with Dam and Hydropower Engineers in developing and enforcing a high standard of project management across a portfolio of projects whilst managing select projects themselves.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage the full project lifecycle for engineering consultancy assignments, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of project milestones.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans in collaboration with technical leads.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
Monitor project performance using KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and Zutari quality standards.
Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and progress updates to clients and senior management.
Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, bids, and client presentations.
Mentor junior project staff and contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electromechanical, etc.), Project Management or a related field.
Project Management professional registration would be preferable.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering project management, preferably within a consultancy environment servicing both private and public clients.
Proven track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2).
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
Contractual experience related to construction projects (e.g., GCC, FIDIC, etc) preferable.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
