The role holder will be responsible to ensure the timeous collection and manage the activities of accounts to ensure the collection of outstanding premiums, manage long outstanding balances, ensure appropriate accounting treatment, effectively liaise with underwriting and sales department. To ensure the timeous reconciliation and clearing of accounts contributing towards a more accurate result of the outstanding premiums. To meet business objectives and maintain high standards of service.

Requirements

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Premium Collections & Account Reconciliations

• Receive assigned recon tasks and complete within agreed timeframes with Team Leader.
• Plan and prioritise workload appropriately – escalate to team leader when problematic.
• Request Payment from Broker monthly
• Allocate all premiums received
• Identify nature of dispute.
• Broker error – liaise with broker together with underwriting and sales team
• Endorsement not/incorrectly processed – initiate endorsement request – liaise with underwriting and sales team to correct

Unallocated cash reconciliations/premium collection dispute

• Reconcile unallocated cash
• Receive assigned recon tasks via workflow and complete within agreed timeframes with Team Leader.
• Plan and prioritise workload appropriately – escalate to team leader when problematic.
• Cash received for unprocessed underwriting instructions – contact broker for information and forward to underwriting for processing
• Bryte action required – instruction not processed or incomplete – initiate endorsement – liaise with Market Underwriting
• Bryte action required – payment shortfall – refund request assessment required

Premium collection dispute and reconciliation

• Receive assigned recon tasks via workflow and complete within agreed timeframes with Team Leader.
• Plan and prioritise workload appropriately – escalate to team leader when problematic.
• Call broker and request payment.
• Broker disputes statement, investigate, and negotiate payment
• Investigate and identify the discrepancy (Systems review, underwriting, sales team interaction)

Qualifications and Experience

• Finance qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in credit control

Description

• The role holder will be responsible to manage, develop and grow a designated panel of Brokers, to retain existing business and generate new business opportunities with new brokers and achieve the desired sales volumes, achieve Gross Written Premiums and Loss Ratio Targets.

Requirements

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

• Produce a Business Plan that reflects market opportunities for area of responsibility
• Produce a Sales plan that demonstrates how to identify, develop and manage prospects
• Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority to achieve effective implementation of business
• Grow and retain Bryte Sales target to ensure the GWP and profitability targets are met
• Track Productivity levels
• Deliver and enhance the highest level of client satisfaction by working with brokers to map and determine their business needs in delivering superior client service
• Strategically analyse the Brokers business plan and develop future business opportunities
• Develop the Broker panel whereby the Business Development Growth targets are achieved through influence and persuasions.
• Ensure that technical and operational underwriting standards, procedures and controls are complied with
• Implement agreed underwriting measures to attain targeted loss ratios and rates
• Ensure adherence to the Regional Teams Sales plan
• Business Accountabilities
• Analysis Governance and risk management executed to Bryte expectations and guidelines

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate calibre
• 5 years+ short term insurance industry experience and sound experience in Sales with a strong presence in the Broker community.
• FAIS compliant

Knowledge

• Sound understanding and knowledge of South African Insurance market Experience within Sales
• Sound knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements
• Maintain up to date knowledge of local markets and industry sectors
• Sound knowledge of Bryte South Africa and its business strategy and objectives

Technical Skills

• Sound understanding and knowledge of South African Insurance market Experience within Sales
• Sound knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements
• Maintain up to date knowledge of local markets and industry sectors
• Sound knowledge of Bryte South Africa and its business strategy and objectives

Travel and Other Requirements

• Extensive local travel in the role
• Driving license required
