    Accountant

    Minimum Qualifications And Experience

    Relevant financial and accounting qualification with at least 5 years’ experience or three years completed articles.

    Main Responsibilities (key Performance Indicators)

    • Financial Reporting:
    • Preparation of balance sheet month end recons
    • Internal & External Audit:
    • Ensure all audit findings are addressed and resolved.
    • Implement required controls to prevent adverse audit findings.
    • Daily tasks and responsibilities:
    • VAT calculations, submissions, and tax authority audits
    • Intercompany transactions and balances
    • Broker account reconciliations
    • Upkeep and management of company-wide Insurance Policy Register
    • Upkeep and management of Fixed Assets (including CAPEX budget and reporting)
    • Petty cash recons, payments, and journals
    • Account allocation and corrections
    • Ad-hoc requests as and when required
    • Other daily and monthly tasks:
    • Payment and journal authorisations
    • Ensure that all month-end deadlines are met
    • Serve as back-up to credit controller as and when required, e.g.:
    • Provision for bad debt reconciliation and journal
    • Invoice discounting processing
    • Weekly Credit Reporting
    • Innovation: Continuously improving accounting processes.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer Literacy (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Aptitude for continuoussystem enhancements and automation

    Desirable Skills

    • Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency
    • SAP exposure
    • Experience using an ERP system

    General

    • Based in Stellenbosch office
    • Compensation: base salary benefits
    • Hybrid working model - future goal is to return to the office full time
    • Reports to Financial Controller

    Planning & Logistics Co-ordinator - Standerton based

    Role & Responsibilities

    • Obtaining quotations and negotiating rates with transporters for new contracts
    • Liaising with transporters
    • Liaising with silo managers and farmers, and arranging loading
    • Booking trucks in to load at silos and farm venues
    • Movement planning and scheduling
    • Coordinate product delivery schedules with Execution (Client facing) desk
    • Book trucks in to offload with Execution Desk
    • Processing of daily transport orders
    • Handle transport invoice queries and claims, etc.
    • Imports and exports across multi-model transport means (road, rail, maritime)

    Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Transport or related field
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Experience within an office environment
    • Good communication skills, English and Afrikaans
    • Must be willing to work after hours

    • Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining excellent attention to detail and high a degree of accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal review required.

    • Aptitude for continuoussystem enhancements and automation.
    • Advanced Excel capabilities.
    • ERP / SAP systems experience / or exposure.
    • Grain and Agri industry and/or commodities, markets and derivatives trading experience.

    Reporting

    • Reports direct to Planning & Logistics Team Lead
    • Matrix reporting to Operations Manager

    Compensation

    • Basic salary with provident fund and medical aid benefits.
    • Annual discretionary incentives.

    Additional Notes
