We are looking for a talented Application Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Business Segment in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete engine selection and configuration to meet our customers performance and environmental requirements
Assist customers with machine design an optimization in accordance to Cummins requirements
Complete installation quality testing to ensure adherence of prototype machines to Cummins specifications
Communicate product change information to customers
Provide the “voice of the customer” to Cummins to develop functional products
Develop skills in areas specific to the success of the role
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or other relevant technical qualifications
Technical problem solving mindset
Project management skills/experience
Capable to work unsupervised and in a remote environment.
Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Service Engineer (Divisional Factory Service Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Systems Business Segment in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Conducts the investigation of product or system problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, and documents results. Applies and supports product problem solving processes such as the seven-step problem solving approach.
Leads consensus with technical experts to make proactive engineering resolutions, in the area of failure analysis and data trends, to implement final product resolutions to reduce customer downtime. Anticipates potential product or process issues in the field and delivers robust technical solutions.
Provides leadership of projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems or services with full accountability to the project team.
Technical Customer Management - Represents Cummins to our customers by being the interface for all technical aspects; provides engineering data, documentation and training to customers to support the design and integration of equipment.
Coordinates and directs work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assists in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers.
Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the areas critical to success in the role.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, analyzing and accountability.
Broad experience in Diesel / Gas engines and generators.
Working together with others, - relates to people, engages and builds relationships
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

We are looking for a talented Cross Border Key Account Manager to join our team specializing in Sales for our Distribution Business Segment in Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Develops, manages and maintains customer support plans for strategic key customers in Angola and Mozambique and works with stakeholders in the business to achieve expected results and deliver value for the customers
Manages accounts receivable deliverables including payment terms negotiation in Angola and Mozambique
Provides leadership and mentoring to less experienced sales representatives and counter sales specialists
Achieves sales targets for dealers in Angola and Mozambique as well as ensuring customer satisfaction
International travel up to 45% of the time and manage the performance of channel partners and dealers in Angola and Mozambique
Provides input into sales and business development strategy for Angola and Mozambique by providing monthly territory updates
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
5 - 10 years Aftermarket, Sales and service experience assisting machinery equipment in the mining/construction industry in Southern Africa
Skilled in building relationships with customers, managing key accounts and being able to handle conflict with customers.
Communication - Fluent in English
Strong customer service skills are essential
