    Explosives Technician - Marikana

    Description

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support on the following:
    • Advanced blast design (Software based)
    • Fragmentation measurement and analysis
    • VOD measurements
    • Borehole deviation measurement
    • Borehole diameter measurement  
    • Monitoring of ground vibrations and Airblaster  
    • Optimization and continuous improvement projects (Execution of planned projects with the guidance of the Explosive Engineer)
    • Cost optimization initiatives
    • Consolidating all of the above technical measurements in a comprehensive report.
    • Assist the Explosive Engineer in acting as a consultant to Tharisa Minerals, our customer, based on the following aspects:
    • Blast-related advice in sensitive areas
    • Product application knowledge and recommendation
    • Continuous improvement of blast design procedure
    • Drilling compliance to design
    • Differentiate the company’s service and products by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing value-added activities beneficial to the performance of the blast.
    • Establish long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at Tharisa Minerals.
    • Provide excellent service on all aspects of explosive and accessory products and their uses, auditing of product application and performance and giving recommendations to correct deficiencies.
    • Assist the R&D team with quality tests and assurance with regard to our product specifications.
    • Regularly carry out workplace and instrument inspections, ensure equipment and tools are safe to use and properly maintained.
    • Compliance with all procedures and safety measurements required by Enaex Africa and/or Tharisa Minerals.

    Requirements

    • Diploma in Mining Engineering / Relevant mining qualification 
    • Blasting or Rock Breaker Certificate – Opencast (Advantageous)
    • Explosive Engineering course (Preferred)
    • Drivers licence (Required)
    • Training in using technical equipment (Required)
    • Competent in Microsoft packages (Required)

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 3 to 5 Years experience in Opencast mining 
    • Any relevant explosive-related experience

    Demand Coordinator - Sandton

    Description

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Oversee demand processes for new and existing products and services

    • Address demand related queries and issues in a timely manner
    • Identify opportunities to meet business demands during constrained supply

    • Manage stakeholder relationships through constant communication on service status; conduct continuous improvement by facilitating effective root-cause analysis; and provide prompt feedback to stakeholders with regards to incident resolution
    • Monitoring, performance through various daily, weekly, and monthly reports and applying the required corrective actions
    • Validate and resolve emergency order requests
    • Manage stakeholder relationships through constant communication on service status; conduct continuous improvement by facilitating effective root-cause analysis; and provide prompt feedback to stakeholders with regards to incident resolution
    • Ensure execution of administrative housekeeping tasks eg open orders, master data integrity etc
    • Ensure the quality of the demand signal & to proactively engage with stakeholders to improve quality over time
    • Resolve escalations arising on services and materials from stakeholders, submit to Procurement for tracking purposes and initiate continuous improvement where trends are identified
    • Enable effective end-user demand fulfilment by the Procurement Team & Contracting Specialists
    • Access performance reports monthly, monitor and engage with quarterly meetings with suppliers and in conjunction with Operational Supplier Management regarding noncompliance to timelines
    • Contribute and identify opportunities for set-aside to improve BBBEE Spend and achieve overall BBBEE target

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements and Experience:

    • National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
    • 3 - 5 years relevant customer service experience
    • 3 - 5 years relevant Supplier interactions service experience
    • SAP Experience at least 5 Years.
