    CCTV Survilliance Controller - Fidelity ADT (Midrand) X9

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

    • The monitoring of communication and surveillance devices and to dispatch the necessary resources to process the situation quickly & efficiently. This work is done via the use of radio networks, telephones, mobile & PC devices, as well as devices for overwatch CCTV and LPR camera monitoring - to prevent and/or respond to any incidents requiring security intervention. To communicate fluently, clearly, and professionally with the client-base and internal and external resources covering the client patrols, our responses, and third-party emergency services.

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Matric
    • Grade C Minimum
    • Excellent Communication skills
    • Literate in English  (Written & Verbal)
    • Must have report writing skills
    • Telephone etiquette
    • Computer Literate
    • Call Centre / Control room background – environment
       

     Key Performance Areas:

    • Computer Literate (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Listener experience essential
    • Ability to work shifts
    • Good interpersonal skills to be able to deal with clients at all levels

    Technical Assistant - Commercial

    Qualification & experience:

    • Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Wireman
    • Practical electrical/electronic knowledge advantageous
       

    Job requirements & other attributes:

    • PSIRA registered (Grade E) advantageous
    • Proven ability to work under pressure and show attention to detail
    • Knowledge of programming.

    Duties:

    Duties – Technical:

    • Assist technician with installations of alarm and security equipment
    • Assist technician by removing old equipment from clients’ premises
    • Assist by running new cables, applying glue, drill holes, mount detectors, panels, contacts, lights, etc.
    • Inform technician of any shortfalls or limitations of the equipment and tools
    • Inform technician of cabling required for an installation
    • Assist technician with user functions and be able to do a handover
    • Clean vehicles and premises after an installation
       

    Duties - Performance Standards:

    • Ensure that tasks are completed neatly and carefully
    • Ensure that equipment is removed before leaving premises
    • Ensure that work is done within the prescribed ADT standards
    • Ensure that technicians are informed of any equipment required prior to installation
    • Ensure that the technician is informed timeoulsy of any equipment required
    • Ensure that you have sufficient cabling to complete an installation
    • Ensure vehicles and sites are clean upon completion of an installation

    Commercial Technician (Client - ABSA)

    Overall Purpose of the job:

    • The incumbent will have the necessary skills and certification for installation/service/fault finding and maintenance of electronic security equipment in the Access control, Alarm, Perimeter fence solutions CCTV, as well as the mechanical peripherals controlled by these devices.

     

    Minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electronic Security technician
    • Programming, wiring, installations and fault finding experience
    • Basic Electronic Training for Low voltage electronic devices
    • Basic network fundamentals in wired and wireless formats
    • CCTV, Access, Alarm, Electric Fence certification – at least 1x specific brand
       

    Job Requirements & Other Attributes:

    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence essential
    • Must be PSIRA registered (Grade C)
    • Basic electronic understanding
    • Knowledge of Access control, CCTV, Burglar alarms and IP systems
    • Be able to read of plans do reticulation, cabling, termination and installation of electronic security equipment.
    • Do fault finding on existing equipment and be able to do servicing on said equipment.
    • Communication skills verbal and written
    • Network fault finding skills, network testing and understanding of LAN/WAN environments
    • Installation standards/product standards knowledge
    • Manage and control technical boot stock accurately and with diligence
    • Weekly timesheets electronically
    • System design and integration knowledge
    • Afterhours and standby work requirement
    • Job card requirement per job completion and signature for accurate stock control and customer invoicing
       

    Main duties & Responsibilities:

    • Program system as per specifications
    • Plan and design cabling infrastructure
    • Communication of job status and ensure necessary updates done on project via incident management system as well as Technical coordinators
    • Complete handovers
    • Complete job cards after every installation/service or maintenance
    • Keep stock up to date and assist store man with weekly accurate boot stock count
    • Keep the company vehicle as well as uniform clean and presentable at all times
    • Quality workmanship and clean place of work
    • Timekeeping and ensure effective amount of work completed daily
    • Escalate customer issues fast and efficiently to ensure great service delivery and excellent communication.
