    Accountant

    Job description

    Introduction

    The Gibb Financial team is looking for a professional to join their team in the capacity of an Accountant: Africa.

    Specification

    Job Purpose

    To maintain accurate financial records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and prepare Monthly Management Accounts and Consolidation.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Maintain and update the general ledgers including subsidiary ledgers of GIBB Holdings
    • Preparation and submission and payments of statutory returns for GIBB Holdings and Trusts
    • Managing the cashflow of GIBB Holdings and preparing cashflow forecast
    • Prepare monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for GIBB Holdings
    • Critical analysis of management accounts for GIBB and all Africa Subsidiaries
    • Prepare monthly management accounts of GIBB & Consolidation
    • Assistance with the secretarial duties for Arcus GIBB Nigeria Ltd, ACE GIBB Pty Ltd; GIH Ltd and GIBB Swaziland/Dlamini GIBB Consultants (Pty) Ltd
    • Preparation of audit files for GIBB Holdings, Consolidation and assist on the Africa Subsidiaries
    • Preparation of draft annual financial statements for all subsidiaries including the consolidation
    • Assist with the annual and bi-annual budget preparation for GIBB and Africa Subsidiaries
    • Assist with any tender related queries
    • Assist Africa Subsidiaries team with ensuring that deadlines are met
    • Provide the Trusts service provider with supporting documentation on a monthly basis
    • Perform any ad-hoc duties as required by management

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    BCom / BTech Accounting or equivalent

    Experience

    • Completed Articles
    • Minimum of 1 year post articles experience as an Accountant in commerce & industry
    • Caseware and Pastel advantageous
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

    Introduction

    The Dams, Hydropower & Underground Sector is looking for a qualified, experienced professional to complement their team, in the form of a Gradute engineer to assist on the Polihali Dam project in Maseru (Lesotho)

    Specification

    • Prepare cost estimates and reports
    • Ensure successful project and client satisfaction
    • Contract administration, including preparation of certificates and drawings
    • Compile letters, reports and prepare tender documentation for the approval by the Project Leader
    • QMS: Preparation and maintenance of a Project Quality file, conforming to minimum content standards set by COO and QMS. Ensure that phase, tasks and project specific quality plans, processes and procedures are implemented
    • Ensure that product quality meets the clients' requirements and expectations.
    • Review work and design assumptions and outputs, to ensure that the desired quality is achieved
    • Ability to identify improvement areas –projects
    • Respond effectively by implementing measures to ensure that the necessary corrective action is being implemented
    • Achieve minimum financial productivity on all projects
    • Establish and monitor programmes, time, cost budgets and deadlines for all projects desired skills and experience

    Requirements

    • BSc/ Tech: Civil Engineering
    • 0-1 year relevant experience after qualification.
    • Prepare and conduct assignments in the engineering field
    • Plan, organize and control aspects of projects
    • Prepares and presents technical reports
