    Accounts Clerk - Western Cape

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Financial

    • Ensure the appropriate minimization of creditors expenses.
    • Contribute to the minimization of general expenses.

    Client

    • Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g., user, service provider) communication is accurate, timely, professional, and relevant.
    • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Business Processes

    • Maintain accurate records of creditors' information, including client details, amounts outstanding, and payment due dates.
    • Monitor invoices received and ensure all documents (purchase orders, delivery notes, cost centers, etc.) are filed.
    • Prepare creditors' information for approval and process bi-weekly payments to suppliers.
    • Administer payments according to the defined approval processes in line with the organization's financial strategy.
    • Ensure timely and complete payments to suppliers to adhere to service level agreements (if applicable).
    • Keep others informed regarding payment progress, including required additional information such as payment dates and proof of payment.
    • Generate reports and statements, reconcile creditors' books weekly/monthly, and ensure completeness and timeliness of creditors' information for further accounting processes.
    • Monitor and input information related to cash flow.
    • Reconcile commissions deposited to commission statements received and manage bookkeeping accordingly.
    • Perform general accounts reconciliation tasks and bookkeeping (e.g., commissions deposited vs. commission statements received).
    • Assist in audit preparation by making information available and resolving assigned audit queries.
    • Keep accurate records of own activities.
    • Contribute towards continuous improvement in own and team performance.
    • Participate and contribute to ad hoc projects.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Certificate or Diploma in Accounting.
    • Proficiency in Pastel (Evolution).
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • 3-5 years experience in a creditors/accounts payable function.

    Personal Lines Underwriter - Bedfordview

    Role Purpose 

    • Provide stakeholders with effective and efficient personal lines underwriting services according to the required standards and procedures in order to retain existing clients and secure new business in support of the business strategy. 

    Financial:

    • Ensure new business targets are met 
    • Ensure Binder fees targets are met  
    • Ensure retention of existing clients 
    • Ensure and contribute to minimisation of general expenses 

    Client:

    • Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g. clients, AE’s, insurers) communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant  
    • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
    • Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targets

    • Request, obtain and/or provide clients with all required information and/or documents 
    • Arrange valuations and reinsurance 
    • Raise premiums 
    • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy 
    • Upsell cover to clients where appropriate 

    Cancellations

    • Follow retention processes 
    • Cancel the policy on the system 
    • Confirm cancellation request with the client 
    • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy 

    Refunds

    • Raise invoices 
    • Request refunds from line manager electronically 
    • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy 
    • Adhere to company mandates 
    • Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects 
    • Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and/or dishonesty 
    • Keep accurate record of own activities

    Requirements

    What You'll Need:

    Qualifications:

    Skills:

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication
    • Strong analytical and organizational abilities

    Experience:

    Role Purpose

    • Keep client informed regarding to progression of the claim

    Business Processes:

    • Adhere to company quality standards and broader regulatory frameworks wrt the following processes (but not limited to): 
    • Claims Administration
    • Receive claims notification, and send and obtain any relevant forms or documents as may be required 
    • Administer complete claims process according to defined claims procedures until claims are settled 
    • Appoint assessor or loss adjustor  
    • Apply policy terms and conditions 
    • Keep internal system and records up to date at all times 
    • Keep relevant internal stakeholders up to date on the progress of registered claims 
    • Make assessment of claims validity and estimate value and administer mandated claims 
    • Forward claims in excess of mandate to insurer  
    • Obtain quotes for services 
    • Arrange approval and payment for claims costs in line with claims and cover 
    • Act as intermediary between insurer and client and timeously relay communication, requests and documentation 
    • Follow the recoveries process, diarise follow-ups and keep clients informed 
    • Ensure productivity targets are met 
    • Contribute towards and ensure continuous improvement in own and team performance 

    Requirements
