Purpose of Job
- Be accountable to provide necessary support to the management of Employee Relations services and processes in various portfolios (small, big, less or more complex), in compliance with group and regional minimum standards, leveraging HR expert services and transactional services in the region, in order to drive the business agenda, service the business requirements into integrated people solutions, value generation and reduce business risks.
Key Accountabilities
Overseeing the Employee Relations’ landscape across the assigned OME/s of responsibility i.e., -
- Ensure sound labour relations as well as labour peace and stability (promote democratic workplace; eliminate culture of unjustified preferential treatment and selective discipline; promote culture of consistent application of rules; encourage adherence to agreements and policy framework – each side keeping their end of the stick etc.)
- Promote joint problem-solving culture and values driven relations.
- Guide the processes such as disciplinary; grievances; redundancies; work incapacity; transfer of businesses as going concern; industrial actions etc.
- Ensure effective and functional Partnership Forums.
- Drive relationship and engagement management with key stakeholders (trade unions, management and employees) to actively manage these relationships and ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
- Ascertain and communicate the impact of decisions and actions on wider Employee Relations, precedent setting, morale and reputational risk.
- Ensure that line management and HR are duly equipped with relevant ER capabilities as per defined minimum standards.
Technical oversight i.e., - execution of -
- Legally-sound ER guidance and support to business in relation to the relevant Sasolburg Industry related legislation and associated processes e.g., section 54 work stoppage declarations, section 64 fatality related inquiries, appointment of Health and Safety Representatives etc.
- Strategic and specialized facilitation of engagements and dialogue between business and trade union partners e.g., in compliance with COP28 resolutions around climate change and sustainable developments.
- Strategic ER guidance and input in the groupwide strategy development and execution of Just Transition in advancement of 2030 Sustainability Plan.
- Capacity Building Plan for trade union partners around challenges and opportunities associated with Just Transition.
Formal Education
- LLB (University Bachelor's Degree in Law) or equivalent qualification.
Working Experience
- Must have practised labour / employment law for 6 to 12 years with overall experience in a Legal field of not less than 12 years.
- Must have deep understanding of South African Labour Law and Mining specific legislation.
- Must have a good understanding of Labour Dispute Resolution processes in South Africa
- Must have the ability to apply and interpret all labour and employment related pieces of legislation in the Mining space
- Must have the ability to provide both written and verbal advise/opinion on labour/employment related matters at all levels pertaining to both Individual & collective labour issues
- Must have the ability to develop, review, interpret labour/employment related policies; agreements and pleadings
- Must have proven knowledge and understanding of the relevant landmark labour / employment case law.
Certification & Professional Membership
- Be an admitted Attorney / Advocate
- Membership of the relevant Legal Professional Council / Law Society will be taken into account.

Purpose of Job
- The role is responsible for training, coaching and developing site staff to ensure compliance with recommended retail food offerings, operational procedures, adhering to food safety standards, and customer service standards. This includes delivering theoretical and practical training to site teams on menu preparation, equipment operation, food production processes, hygiene practices, stock control and overall kitchen operations. The incumbent will support franchisees and site teams in delivering a consistent, high-quality food offering that improves operational efficiency, enhances customer experience and supports retail sales growth.
Key Accountabilities
Create menu suited to the convenience retail forecourt environment.
- Train staff on preparation methods and portion control guidelines to ensure product consistency across sites.
- Continuously review and update the menu range to maintain customer relevance.
- Support the introduction of new products and menu innovations aligned with the company’s retail food strategy.
Site Visits – Planning and Scheduling
- Draw up and submit a weekly site visit schedule containing a logical and realistic site visit plan.
- Ensure call cycle planning is followed to support operational execution across all sites.
- Conduct site visits to assess operational standards, food quality and staff competency in menu execution.
- Provide on-site coaching to improve kitchen operations and food preparation standards.
Training, Coaching and Development of Site Staff
- Train, coach and develop site staff to ensure compliance with food service standards and full operational procedures related to food production.
- Ensure the entire process supports operational efficiency and consistent product quality across all sites.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure continuous improvement in food preparation and service standards.
- Present theoretical training in a classroom environment as well as practical training on site.
- Conduct competency assessments of staff to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Training records to be uploaded on the eLMS.
Site Opening Support
- Provide operational support during the opening of new retail sites.
- Ensure efficient and error-free implementation of the food offering.
- Conduct training for new site teams on menu execution, operational procedures and equipment usage.
- Demonstrate best practice behaviour in delivering excellent customer service.
Equipment Training and Implementation
- Train site staff on the correct, safe and efficient use of all kitchen equipment in conjunction with the equipment supplier.
- Assist with testing and evaluation of new equipment before rollout.
Food Safety, Hygiene and Compliance
- Ensure that store staff and franchisees adhere to all food safety standards.
- Train staff on food hygiene standards including proper food handling, storage and preparation practices.
- Ensure strict compliance with personal hygiene standards in the kitchen environment.
- Conduct regular operational checks to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Optimising Retail Food Performance
- Assist retailers in improving site turnover through improved food offering and operational execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, workflow and operational efficiency.
- Assist in implementing food merchandising standards and planograms across retail sites.
- Support continuous improvement of operating procedures to improve operational performance.
Skills Transfer and Coaching
- Share best practices with internal teams, franchisees and site staff.
- Work in collaboration with Retail Account Managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
- Maintain professional relationships with franchisees and site managers.
- Continuously seek and propose ways to improve the effectiveness of training programs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional Chef Qualification (preferable), Food Consumer Science Degree/Btech, Food Science
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Experience in retail food service, quick service restaurants, or convenience food operations is advantageous
- Experience in menu development and recipe standardization
- Knowledge of food safety systems
- Experience in staff training and operational implementation

Purpose of Job
- To coordinate, control and execute surface surveying activities for Sasol Mining operations, ensuring that all survey-related work complies with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and relevant statutory requirements.
- The role is responsible for managing surface spatial data, stockpile measurements, drone-based aerial surveys, and survey networks, ensuring accurate positioning of infrastructure, reliable mineral rights management, and compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Surface Survey Management
Execute mineral rights and surface survey requirements including:
- Prospecting and exploration boreholes
- Rescue boreholes
- Surface subsidence monitoring
- Servitudes and infrastructure services
- Rehabilitation surveys
- Water monitoring and supply infrastructure
- Monitoring of surface structures and infrastructure
- Liaison with surface rights owners and stakeholders
- Assist with undermining applications and surface erection permissions in line with regulatory requirements.
Survey Control and Spatial Data Management
Coordinate and control surface surveying activities to ensure that:
- Surface structures and infrastructure are accurately captured and recorded on statutory mine plans
- Planned structures are correctly positioned and aligned on site
- Survey data is verified before critical operational decisions are made
- Establish and maintain survey control networks for new shafts, ventilation shafts and infrastructure developments.
Drone and Survey Technology Management
Manage drone-based aerial surveying operations to support:
- Surface mapping and infrastructure monitoring

- Ensure drone operations comply with SACAA regulations, Sasol governance requirements and safety standards.
Stockpile Measurement and Reconciliation
Achieve accurate stockpile calculations and reconciliation by:
- Measuring coal stockpiles at SCS and Export plants
- Executing volumetric calculations using survey and drone technologies
- Supporting governance of coal sales to Synfuels through accurate stock reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and audit requirements.
Equipment and Cost Control
Achieve equipment integrity targets by:
- Managing survey equipment procurement and maintenance
- Ensuring availability and reliability of survey instrumentation

Legal Compliance and Governance
