    Payroll Officer

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Processing and inputting of payroll data in respect of the College’s four payrolls
    • Ensuring timeous payments to employees and third parties
    • Accurate and timeous processing of payroll journals
    • Approving Leave and claims in ESS
    • Capturing and facilitating advance and saving withdrawal applications
    • Monthly summary and reconciliation of payroll-related ledger accounts
    • Preparing and assisting in the completion of SARS and statutory related submissions
    • Assist with audit queries
    • Assisting the Payroll Manager as and when required
    • Ensure to keep up to date with relevant payroll-related legislation
    • Any additional projects and assignments that may arise

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
    • Previous experience in a payroll/HR related environment will be beneficial
    • The initiative and ability to learn and master relevant payroll software packages
    • Sound working knowledge of Windows and MS Office Suite is essential
    • Experience in working with a payroll package is advantageous
    • Ability to prepare summaries of ledger accounts and performing reconciliations of payroll-related accounts
    • High level of integrity, discretion and unwavering commitment to confidentiality
    • Organisational and time management skills to meet weekly and monthly deadlines is critical
    • Ability to multi task, work under pressure and independently - deadlines are a priority and accuracy is a must
    • Experience in handling challenging situations, assertively and diplomatically
    • A sound work ethic and the ability to use initiative
    • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
    • Ability to follow rules and implement procedures
    • Excellent analytical and numerical skills

    Director of Hockey

    • The Director of Hockey will lead and manage the hockey programme for St Stithians College as a whole. The position will innovate, develop, partner and manage the College’s Hockey Precinct, developing strategies, plans, policies and programmes to ensure an integrated Long-Term Hockey Development Plan to meet the College’s expansive needs. This would need to include a School and age-appropriate hockey development plan. 
    • The successful candidate will be responsible to drive, benchmark and monitor the College hockey programme through strategic direction to ensure that College maintains its position as one of the leading hockey schools in the country. They will be responsible for player and coach development with a focus on the improvement of the technical, tactical and mental abilities of players and coaches. The role will involve stakeholder management, partnerships, and engagement including parents and sponsors.  The successful candidate will be required to ensure that St Stithians College remains on the cutting edge in relation to International and National hockey best practice, sets  the national trend in the Hockey space while being accountable for the overall success and strategy of the St Stithians Long-Term Hockey Development Plan.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Relevant qualifications and proven experience in leading and developing hockey programmes (Recreational- competitive- high performance)
    • A level 3 coaching certificate will be an advantage
    • Previous proven experience coaching hockey at a Provincial or national level.
    • Proof of a hockey coaching system, style of play (Saints Way) and a LTAD Implementable Curriculum across the College.
    • Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail
    • Ability to problem-solve, innovate and work collaboratively
    • Strong and proven relationships with Schools, Universities, Provincial and National Federations
    • Strong and proven experience in strategic recruitment of students and commercial acumen.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and Budget Management.
    • Excellent command of English (verbal and written communication)
    • Resilient and able to use initiative, prioritise, multi-task and able work under pressure
    • Ability to adapt to and cope with change
    • A strong appreciation of the importance of the College’s values and culture, and a willingness to work within the Methodist ethos of the College

    JP Foundation Phase Teacher

    GP Intermediate Phase Teacher
