Role Purpose/Business Unit:
- The Senior Specialist: Public Sector Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence, governance compliance and business performance across the Public Sector partner ecosystem.
- The role serves as the central point of coordination and oversight for Public Sector partner operations ensuring effective management of transversal contracts, partner governance processes and strategic stakeholder collaboration.
- The role is accountable for leading partner selection governance, due diligence, risk and compliance oversight, partner performance management and contractual governance while driving sales objectives, revenue growth and operational efficiency within the Public Sector channel.
- The senior specialist must ensure alignment with Vodacom Business strategy, public sector procurement frameworks and contractual obligations.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:
Transversal Management
Accountable for the end-to-end transversal contract governance and tender governance process including:
- Tracking the utilisation of Transversal opportunities
- Maintain contractual governance repository; monitoring obligations, risks, deliverables.
- Oversee due diligence, compliance and risk assessment activities including mitigation.
- Managing all Transversal Stakeholder Engagements
- Drive the Regions in executing the PE Strategy for transversal opportunities.
- Lead the streamlining of the procurement process to boost efficiency and cost savings.
- Generate monthly reporting on the revenue generation, Pipeline for each Transversal and support to sales around procurement channels.
- Support Billing, PMO and Service Management issues.
Sales Partner Operations
- Manage the governance for the compliant selection and onboarding of sales partners for public sector opportunities and deals.
- Manage partner sales targets in line with business strategy, commission governance, performance and contractual obligations.
- Drive partner communications, Partner Council engagements and executive stakeholder alignment.
- Provide strategic recommendations from market and customer behaviours to leadership on partner performance & effectiveness, risks and opportunities.
Overall responsibility for business performance for the Public Sector partner channel, including but not limited to the following:
- Rollout of targets: measurement and monitoring of performance against set sales targets and key metrics.
- Training and development: assist with the partner training curriculum to drive the sale of VB products and services.
- Drive and manage all strategic channel programs, projects, partner systems and drive improvement of channel processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Strategic management of internal and external stakeholders.
- Leverage networks to facilitate delivery and issue resolution.
- Collaborate across functions to ensure successful execution.
- Provide specialised guidance to stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
- Manage multiple stakeholders across the Public Sector landscape.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Relevant 3-year degree / diploma or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ work experience in operations, contract management, or related environment, with:
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement.
- Experience with Partner/Channel Management.
- Proficiency in CRM and opportunity management systems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
