Role Summary

Responsible for providing daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports. Duties include compiling and presenting divisional and functional reports, data trend and analysis. Ensures month end runs are accurate and timeous, support clients with regard to ad-hoc reports and queries. The incumbent has a complete and clear understanding of the database. Responsibilities include the co-ordination and management of changes to the MIS database, the streamlining of MIS reports and process across the business.
The position is multi-disciplined and taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering on commitment is key to success in this position.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of tasks and projects within the business and to provide used cases to the Business analysts as required. The environment is fast paced and strict SLAs are adhered to.

Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Engage with and facilitate requirement gathering workshops with the Business owner/Product Houses, Distribution and the MIS reporting team.
• Provide training and support to the various stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze information needs, functional requirements and business processes
• Provide used cases to the Business analysts
• Project manage/implement new consumption tools and version updates
• Drive and influence Business Units on their usage and understanding of the MIS to successfully execute on their plans
• Ability to work across multiple projects and businesses
• Inform, influence and guide business through your ability to analyse and visualise data
• Co-ordinate user communication and other aspects of monthly enhancements and implementations

Requirements
Qualifications:

• Matric with Mathematics
• Degree (information Systems/Statistics/Science) would be advantageous

Experience And Skills

• At least 5 years’ relevant experience within the financial industry
• Analytical
• Should be able to adapt quickly
• Data driven approach with the ability to engage on technical level whilst having a strong business sense
• Visualisation, Dashboarding and Presentation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to familiarise yourself quickly with technical concepts of project
• Good verbal and written communication skills to manage relationships with business stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet tight deadlines/SLAs
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, add-ins)
• Knowledge seeking/learning orientation

What you will do:

The Sanlam CA Training Programme is guided by the SAICA regulations, which requires practical experience to obtain competence in technical and professional skills over the three years. The technical competencies include Accounting & External Reporting, Financial Management, Management Decision Making & Control, Taxation, Risk Management & Governance, and Auditing & Assurance. The professional competencies include Professional Conduct, Management & Leadership, Personal Attributes, and Information Technology. With the Sanlam CA Training Programme, trainees are placed on rotations at Group and within the clusters to obtain the relevant exposure to achieve the prescribed SAICA competencies.

What will make you successful in this role:

• Complete the formal educational programme in which practical experience and training (from Sanlam as Training Office), as prescribed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts (SAICA), are obtained to be able to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (SA).
• Assist with the annual reporting process
• Assist with ad-hoc projects
   

Qualification And Experience

• B.Comm (Honours) Accountancy or the equivalent of CTA.
• Experience in a financial department (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word (advantageous).
