    Key Account Specialist - Food and Transport (Western Cape)

    Main Responsibilities

    • To ensure sales budgets are achieved for fuels and lubricants, and give input during budgeting process?
    • To nurture, maintain and manage good customer business relationships in the mining channel of trade?
    • To effectively manage pricing, rebates and discount levels and ensure all costing associated with customers is accounted for?
    • To ensure that under recoveries (e.g. transport, product returns, maintenance costs, etc.) are collected?
    • To control the level of gross margin after variable expense (GMVE) per customer?
    • To manage customer credit (resolve errors, perform reconciliation), and ensure customer service delivery?
    • To conduct variance analysis / business reviews per customer, compare to budget and take corrective action where appropriate?
    • To ensure proper stock management and sales forecasting?
    • To monitor and control Fuel Management System suppliers and other suppliers to ensure that costs are managed?
    • To compile monthly business review and KPI’s, including asset management?

    Project Engineer

    As a Project Engineer, would be responsible for the following: 

    Depots, Service Stations and Commercial Customer Installations – construction and engineering 

    • To conduct project feasibility studies for engineering and construction projects; preparing documentation, drawings and recommendation for execution of projects. 
    • To submit and obtain national and local authorities approvals and prepare and obtain approval for MOC documentation. 
    • To guide the draughtsman or consultants in preparation of the construction drawings. 
    • To participate in the negotiation of equipment supply and engineering contracts with the service providers, in collaboration with the purchasing division. 
    • To plan, organise, control and execute field construction activities, within given time and budget. 
    • To be responsible for incorporation of local legislation requirements, Group standards and best practices for all engineering and construction projects. 
    • To effectively monitor and evaluate variations associated with changes in project scope and subsequent cost changes. 
    • To provide regular updates to Technical Manager regarding the projects and providing explanations on any delay with regards to the projects.

    • Ensures compliance with regulations as well as the safety of people and properties on sites, 
    • Carries out on day to day basis urgent operations such as the replacement of defective equipment, attending to safety issues, and administration-related requests. 
    • Checks regularly the assets, especially by the way of a full scope Annual Technical Visit which should be done with the customer representative and develops recommendations and action plans according to Customer strategy, 
    • Ensures preventive maintenance is carried out as per set schedules, 
    • Conducts random audits and quality inspections of maintenance work to ensure compliance with standards 
    • Ensures that the maintenance contracts are implemented in line with the SLA agreements. 
    • Ensures that contractors adhere to the company HSEQ requirements 
    • Handle maintenance work that falls outside of the general contracts (i.e. NEMO) 
    • Anticipates the investments for the replacement of obsolete equipment to increase availability and reduce operational and maintenance costs, 
    • Carries out the works for safety, risk reduction, and compliance with regulations, 
    • Advises dealers (clients) on technical and regulatory obligations, estimating the costs to upgrade the equipment and installations for contract renewal 
    • Manages his/her delegated budget, launches the orders, and validates the payment of invoices according to purchasing rules, 
    • Maintaining good customer relations internally & externally 
    • Participates in asset sales, manages to dismantle of sites in relation with the HSEQ department, General Trade and Mining divisions for remediation, 
    • Updates technical and assets data (Synoptics, drawings, and inventories) 
    • Analyse audit reports conducted by HSEQ and take corrective action, in conjunction with business owners to close findings, 
    • Informs and trains the site operators on good utilization of equipment and housekeeping. 
    • Supports Contracts Manager in Business Performance Reviews 
    • Manages the AUC process

    Candidate Profile

    • SAMTRAC/ NEBOSH formal training in HSE field.
    • Registered with the SACPCM as CHSO
    • 4 to 7 years of experience in Managing health, safety and environment for projects
    • Experience of PV and BESS projects preferred
    • Experience in implementation, maintaining and auditing of the OSHA45001 and ISO14001 Management System
    • Familiarity of Industry Standards and relevant industry HSE regulations and requirements.
    • Familiarity with behavioural based safety systems, risk analysis / job safe analysis methods, emergency response and crisis management procedures.

    KEY ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

    • Develop strategic relationships with the Mining Houses - Recommend and propose TotalEnergies Mining solutions to identified key customer and support the Technical and Sales team in obtaining benefit reports - Give active support on ISP KPI management and tracking
    • To support the Regional Sales Managers to create and manage all relationships with the head offices of these mines and ensure through monthly/quarterly contract meetings that all issues that are not resolved on the different mines are resolved at the head office level. Promote digital tools and their implementation

    STRATEGY

    • To participate in developing sales and marketing penetration strategies and new business models and ensure all mining business models are up to date and effectively managed. Develop and manage the pricing structure for tenders, jointly with Financial Control to ensure sustainable profitability
    • Mapping of the Mining landscape identifying risks and opportunity present in the environment Identify the new needs and expectations of the Mining Houses in terms of products and services - Promote digital tools to our customers and manage their implementation.

    • Build tailor made solutions with our service providers to meet our client’s future and current requirements

    FINANCE

    • Delivering on the budget commitments for business development - Compile the post investment analysis for investments and projects and provide reports on the profitability of contracts, investments, and projects against the base line assumptions - Assist the Mining Divcom Manager in compiling the budgets and long-term plans

    COMPETITOR AND MARKET INTELLIGENCE:

    • Creating a network for business Intelligence with clients, prospects and suppliers

    • Creating and administrating a SALSA hosted prospects data-base containing:

    CALLING ON TENDERS:

    • Organizing site visits prior to the offer submission with internal stakeholders (supply, transport, engineering HSEQ and logistics)
    • Challenging and verifying with internal stockholders’ input on feasibility costs and schedule
    • Managing client’s and internal stakeholder’s expectations in preparation of supply, the installations take over and on boarding
    • Constructing profitable tailor-made offers for clients by managing their expectations, TMSA’s capabilities and internal stakeholder’s input
    • Driving the internal validation process of offers as per TotalEnergies’ governance rules
    • Giving input for budget planning on new volumes, operating income, and CAPEX

    CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS:

    • Negotiating, drafting and closing contracts in the interest of TotalEnergies

    Candidate Profile

    • Bachelor’s Degree or engineering degree and minimum 10 years' experience in the oil industry preferably in sales
    • Exposure in analysing and interpreting financial statements either in studies or work experience and interaction with employees, customers, and dealers. Management, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills
    • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
    • Experience with negotiating commercial contracts with an understanding of the legal aspects.
    • English as business language, French if possible
