    Lead Editor

    What We’re Looking For:

    The main purpose of the role is to deliver on the editorial quality assurance of short course content, ensuring alignment with quality standards and styles of the university and 2U. The Lead Editor also oversees the editing and proofreading performed by Editors by conducting quality assurance of their work, and manages and supports their performance.

    Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

    • Edit and proofread written and multimedia course content according to internal quality frameworks and university standards. 

    • Oversee editing and proofreading work performed by the Editors to ensure quality standards are met, and arrange or facilitate training as needed to address any gaps or areas for improvement. 

    • Manage professional development and performance of Editors. 

    • Assist with the recruitment and training of new Editors. 

    • Recommend and implement improvements to department processes, with a focus on quality and efficiency. 

    Things That Should Be In Your Background:

    • 5+ years’ experience in a copy-editing role, or similar/transferable experience.

    • A university qualification in linguistics, English, journalism, publishing, law or similar, completed in English.

    • Excellent written skills, including thorough knowledge of grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation; and comfort working with both UK and US conventions.

    • Highly skilled in using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

    Other Attributes That Will Help You In This Role:

    • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment. 

    • Good organisational skills: ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-pressured environment. 

    • Previous experience as a people manager will be an advantage.

    • Editing and/or proofreading professional certification preferred.

    Learning Technology - Web Accessibility Specialist

    What We’re Looking For:

    The Web Accessibility Specialist ensures that all website enhancements and content is accessible through the use of assistive technology and complies with legislative and/or contractual obligations. The role is also responsible for establishing a vision for Accessibility compliance that will influence product design and create an equal learning experience for all users.

    Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

    • Thorough understanding of WCAG 2.0/2.1 guidelines in application. 

    • Testing feature deployments across virtual learning environments and marketing websites. 

    • Responsible for the formal audit and drafting of relevant compliance documentation across existing virtual learning environments and marketing websites on desktop and mobile. 

    • Developing a vision for Accessibility compliance and advocating for strategic direction with internal and external stakeholders.

    Things That Should Be In Your Background:

    • 3+ years experience in IT, business systems analysis and/or web development.

    • Bachelor's degree beneficial (Computer Science preferred).

    • Experience in systems analysis and speccing enhancements for development.
