    Quality Supervisor (ISBM)

    WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

    • Ensure production compliance with all internal and customer product and packaging specifications
    • Measurement and Testing
    • Ensure that measurements, records and dimensional reports, functional and visual attributes per internally specified requirements are carried out.

    WHAT MAKES YOU GREAT

    • 4 year degree preferably in chemistry or science area or equivalent experience
    • Experience with physical lab testing equipment, calipers, scales, digital height gauge and compression force testing equipment and with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
    • At least 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance combined with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments as a QA Manager, preferably in manufacturing environment and English
    • Proven track of leading people and passion tdevelop employees

    Warehouse - JHB

    WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING
    Stock management

    • Defining the way how goods are stored to achieve maximum warehouse utilization.
    • Continuously optimizing the warehouse layout to improve the flow of the goods.
    • Identifying non-turning pallets and initiate corresponding measures.

    Maintenance Fitter

    WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintenance Technician - Durban

    WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

    • Performs daily checks on the facility and utilities and coordinates with service suppliers whenever external support for repairs or maintenance is needed.
    • Conducts repairs and maintenance of our facility and utilities equipment including air compressors, chillers, cooling systems and water treatment, power supply distribution systems and generators.

    • Participates in designing, updating drawing layouts, managing and or monitoring small to midsize projects in regard to the facility and utilities.

    • Bachelor's degree with at least five years management experience in the area of industrial engineering

    Production Manager for our New Recycling Facility in Ballito/ KZN

    WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING

    ALPLArecycling is building a state-of-the-art recycling plant in the South African coastal town of Ballito, north of Durban. The plant, with an output of 35,000 tonnes of recycled PET material, marks our entry into the African recycling market. Construction has started in summer 2023 and completion is planned for autumn 2024. 

    We are at the beginning of our recycling journey in Africa and are looking for a Production Manager to be part of our growing team at our new plant in Ballito. As Production Manager you will develop our production structures and processes to start-up our recycling facility and increase our efficiency. You ensure that the reycling line is running safely, smoothly, and producing high quality rPET material.

    • Lead production team activities including production planning based on customer orders
    • Oversee daily recycling production with the aim to ensure timely delivery and efficient operation
    • Cooperate with the Quality department to ensure quality compliant production 
    • Cooperate with Maintenance department for short-term break-down maintainance and long-term preventive maintenance planning
    • Cooperate with Warehouse department on PET-bottle bale and finished goods management 
    • Prepare daily production figures for internal production meeting and reporting to management
    • Troubleshoot production plans
    • Manage production team including recruitment, training need assessment, skill development, disciplinary actions, performance evaluation, shift handover etc.
    • Establish internal procedures for 5S, Health & Safety; take ownership and ensure continuous complicance by being a role model of the ALPLA culture

    • Degree with clear affinity to production / operations
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an international manufacturing company, preferably in plastic recycling, plastic industry or food packaging
    • Ideally, experience in production start-up, growth and expansion of a newly created operation / plant

You will play a critical role in setting up the the HR department, supporting the management to hire our team and shaping our people journey at ALPLArecycling in Ballito.

    • Independent realization of all operational HR activities along the HR value chain in cooperation with the management team including personnel administration (payroll, time & attendance, leave management) 
    • Set-up and implement HR processes, procedures, guidelines and strategies in line with ​our regional and divisional team
    • Assist the managemenet team in developing effective staffing plans to hire the right people, for the right function, at the right time.
    • Develop training plans and ensure training execution for our newly hired employees in cooperation with the management team
    • Provide support & trusted advice in all HR related and labour law topics
    • Manage disciplinary processes internally / externally (CCMA)

    WHAT MAKES YOU GREAT

    • Degree in HR or related field
    • 5 - 8 years of professional experience in onsite manufacturing HR management in the geographical area of Ballito / Ilembe District Municipality / North Coast
