    IT Risk Cyber Security & Compliance Manager - Cape Town

    The IT risk, cyber security & compliance manager ensures the security of all IT data and operations through the effective implementation of IT cyber security, IT general controls, governance, resilience strategies, risk mitigation controls and frameworks. They are also responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the disaster recovery plans and that business continuity provisions are in place across IT services. This role also leads, manages and controls the Governance Risk and Compliance function acting as a point of escalation where critical breaches occur across Astron Energy’s systems.

    • Accountable for the definition of the IT risk, security and compliance framework for Astron Energy including information risk (cyber security), it policies, disaster recovery and business continuity
    • Ensure a formal set of IT risk, security and compliance processes are in place by which the organisation can remediate risks
    • Lead, develop and manage the IT risk, security and compliance capability
    • Create a culture of high performance, value-for-money, optimisation and innovation in the IT risk, security and compliance team and manage performance of the team effectively
    • Support CIO to manage IT governance and resilience strategy through the establishment of effectively defined strategies and control mechanisms for both governance and resilience
    • Ensure compliance of all IT services to the defined risk, security and compliance frameworks
    • Maintain and continuously  improve policies, standards and procedures to ensure demonstrable regulatory and legal control for all information and risk for Astron Energy from an IT perspective
    • Schedule risk and compliance audits, review the outcomes of the audit process; direct compliance issues to appropriate resources for investigation and resolution
    • Develop, implement and maintain a risk register, contribute results to corporate dashboard
    • Ensure that all systems have business continuity plans in place, ensuring that processes and procedures are available in a disaster situation
    • Manage the overall disaster recovery and business continuity planning process as well as report results to the business and IT Directors
    • Work with the development, service introduction and testing teams to produce the disaster recovery and business continuity planning operational acceptance criteria
    • Complete operational risk assessments and escalate key issues (where necessary)
    • Ensure all critical IT services are maintained and available to business nationwide and effective failovers are in place
    • Management reporting of company IT risks for report-out at the Board Audit & Risk Committee
    • Company Data Privacy Officer

    Qualifications:

    • IT Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent desired
    • Certification in risk, information systems and security desired (CISM, CEH, CISSP)
    • 5+ years management experience
    • 10+ years of experience in IT security, cyber security, disaster recovery, governance, risk and business continuity planning

    Skills & Experience

    • Strong knowledge of core IT infrastructure, applications, business processes and technology supplier community
    • Experience in security management, security and network architecture and/or design
    • Experience in implementing and maintaining IT security processes

    HR Analyst - Cape Town

    Astron Energy are seeking an HR Analyst.

    • Working closely with the HR Operations Manager & HR Leadership Team, the key areas of the HR Analyst position will include:

    Key accountabilities:

    • Coordinate monthly/quarterly & adhoc reporting (transformation, recruitment, payroll, L&D, manpower planning, budgeting, ER reporting, exit interviews)
    • Develop a set of principles / guidelines for data governance (including data integrity/accuracy, data retention, legislation requirements)
    • Organisation Management, Business Planning & Analytics
    • Support with creating, maintaining and developing Workday dashboards and custom reports
    • Collect, analyse and interpret HR data and statistics, identify trends, patterns and correlations across recruitment practices, HR processes, attrition
    • Develop absenteeism reporting / Bradford Index factor report
    • Collaborate with teams across HR and the HR Leadership Team to develop and implement HR analytics strategies and initiatives

    Senior Design Draftsperson - Mechanical (Milnerton)

    Reporting to the Drawing Office Lead,The Snr Mechanical Design Draughtsperson has the responsibility for all Mechanical, Piping & Structural drawings needed to complete a project.

    • Technically responsible for quality and designs of all draughting work produced.
    • Develop time estimate and schedule for jobs (scope of work).

    Providing approved for construction (AFC) drawings for:

    • Field support – break-in work and emergencies
    • Engineering Works Request (EWR)
    • Tank refurbishments
    • Integrity Threat Recommendations - ITR’s
    • Replacement in kind (RIK)
    • “As-Build” update of drawings
    • Piping Isometrics on new/existing pipelines – 3D modelling utilizing CADWorx and generating Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Structural – pipe supports, platforms, walk-ways, cat walks, etc.
    • Mechanical – Vessels, Boilers, Tanks, pumps, etc.
    • Civil – concrete pump bases, footings, etc.
    • Refinery Plot/Key Plan updates.

    • Checking of drawings for correctness and Standards prior to submittal for approval.

    Work Experience:

    • Good knowledge of ASME and the American Petroleum Institute (API), South African National Standard (SANS) and other Codes and Standards related to Petrochemical Plants.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in AutoCAD including Ancillary Software and Intergraph SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) strongly preferred.
    • Experience in developing piping isometrics and detail mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.

    Accountant - Refines (Cape Town)

    • The Accountant-Refines is responsible to manage inventory valuations, research any abnormalities in terms of individual material rates at all terminals in both South Africa and Botswana. Ensure to take appropriate correction actions for any product rate deviations in support of accurate reporting of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Balance sheet inventory valuation. The role is also expected to work closely with Lubes Manufacturing Plant (LMP) to ensure appropriate valuation of lubricants imports and also have accountability for overall slate management in both countries.

    Financial Perspective

    • Process and ensure cost of sales entries are accurate and correctly valued for gross margin reporting. Calculate and process monthly over/under recoveries journals to P&L and Balance sheet.
    • Ensure both internal and external audit deliverables are attended to within specified timeline to avoid potential additional cost overruns. 

    Customer Perspective

    • Provide monthly financial data to key stakeholders in accordance to agreed deadlines
    • Turnaround time – plan and exceed customer deadline expectation with at least one day per request. No delays or overdue requests

    Internal Processes

    • Monitor and adjust the merchandise inventory cost ledger rates
    • Daily monitor moving average prices for all refined products.
    • Ensure that the moving average price (MAP) is correctly stated in both local and USD currencies.
    • Process necessary stock value adjustments and correcting journal entries to the required general ledger accounts.
    • Reconcile and adjust for any differences between the inventory sub ledger and the inventory control accounts.
    • Calculate and process the slate over/under recoveries
    • Monthly extract sales volumes for designated segments and calculate the slate over/under recoveries for both South Africa & Botswana.
    • Process the necessary general ledger entries to Profit & Loss and Balance sheet account.
    • Monthly submit and reconcile the South African slate volume and value balance with South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA).
    •  Submit monthly slate volume and reports to Botswana government.
    •  Engaged external auditors and arrange audit certificate for slate payments to Botswana government and for South Africa to SAPIA on request.
    • Ensure, when slate levy is effective and operational in South Africa, that correct payment is received and allocated to appropriate general ledger account.
    • Monthly liaise with ST&O to validate slate volumes in terms of material, over/under recovery rates, value and split period, if applicable.   
    • Extract and prepare loss/gain reports
    • Circulate to management and other Business Units for review and resolution of abnormal loss/gain postings. Ensure journal corrections are processed if loss/gains need to be reversed or adjusted.
    • LMP Invoice Verification process
    • Perform timely invoice verification for Base oil Imports.
    • Liaise with LMP to ensure 3rd Party invoices are processed by COB WD0.
    • Liaise with LMP to process Accruals where documentation for month-end Invoice verification will not be received by month end close, reverse accruals in the new month and ensure actuals are processed.
    • Allocate Wharfage charges from Vendor to GL Account for all relevant imports for the month.
    • Monthly Insurance Report to be prepared, sent for Review by Costing Manager and submitted to Glencore London by WD6.
    • Perform general ledger account reconciliations for all accounts within Area of Responsibility.
    • Regularly updates procedural documentation in line with process changes and new general ledger accounts requirements.

    People Management

    • Participate and complete agreed annual training requirements – internal and external courses.
    • Present and participate in knowledge sharing workshops
    • Provides coaching and guidance to team members supporting costing deliverables and processes. 
    • Provide support to Senior Accountant and Analyst: Refining Finance for Goods Receipts and Purchase Order processing for Refinery Imports
    • Ensure alignment to new and improved system deployments, revised business process improvements, etc. 

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • University degree in Finance/(Cost) Accounting is essential

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of four years accounting experience
    • Good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) accounting principles
    • SAP experience essential

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Strong financial and analytical skills.
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Working knowledge of SAP
    • Attention to detail and drive for results
    • High level analytical ability and problem solving skills
